  • Philip Glass - Glassworks
  • Nick Drake - Bryter Later
  • Josef K - Entomology
  • Yabby You - Beware Dub
  • Charli XCX - Number 1 Angel
  • Slayer - Reign In Blood
  • 47th Street

Very fine album by a talented musician who died young. Of course any time Billy Harper is present things are going to get spiritual. I learn from the lone Amazon review that this was music for a play about jazz on the South Side

    Yazz Ahmed - La Saboteuse

  • katie dey - Flood Network

Wow this is really good. Currently $5: https://katiedey.bandcamp.com/album/flood-network-3
  • Slowdive- Souvlaki Demos and Outtakes
  • Khepera

After that kind of sad Malachi Favors post, nice to post an album by one of the elders who is still with us and going strong

  • This morning I listened to two CDs from the Bruce Springsteen Ties that Bind box set - The Outtakes CD and the Ties that Bind CD. I am about to listen to The River
  • Image result for two from the vault

Today is a Dark Star day...I am listening to every version of Dark Star in my iCloud (eleven versions in all, several from Dead & Company). Actually started with the epic 30+ minute version on Sunshine Daydream, now on to the mere 10+ version on Two from the Vault.
  • jtamul - Milk Bottle

Incredibly good bouncy electronic release. Got this quite a while ago and it just sat until recently when I stumbled across it and put it in the regular rotation. Highly recommended if you like this kind of thing, which I'm not sure who does around here, but at least sample... nyop: https://jtamul1.bandcamp.com/album/milk-bottle

"With this album i wanted to share melodically bizarre and creative music that comes from my fears.I hope you like it!"

Just 11 versions??? Is this where I say Newbie? ;-) Lord knows how many I have but then I've been a member of Eurotraders for years (trading shows for blank cd-rs and postage as i didn't have many shows to actually trade). I would say that a lot of those early short versions are the bees knees.

Eleven in my iCloud library. I have boxes of cassettes and shelves of Cd-Rs as well. You want to swap lists?
  • Richard Dawson - Nothing Important

Ha! Just teasing, TBH the Dead are woefully under represented on my various devices and I don't cloud except what tiny samples Emu has gifted me. I probably only have 3 or 4 Dicks Picks on various iPods as I want my "mobile music" to be as varied as possible and 100 versions (or whatever) of Jack Straw just doesn't cut the mustard in that department.
I stand by my comment that a lot of the early short version of D.S. are among the best.
  • Circle - Paris Concert

I wanted to say something clever about Paris given the events of the day but the words escape me.

Nothing clever needs to be said. This is an astounding 2-LP set that got me thru my childhood.
  • It really is great. I wonder if my kids would like it?

  • As if one needed a reason to listen to Ella
