It really is great. I wonder if my kids would like it?
Well, if your kids are into expertly done free-jazz improvisations, then they probably will!

As an aside, have you read much Paul Bowles? very good short story writer, with a hell of a personal history.

  • Power pop/new wave or something from Richmond, VA in the "very early 80s," at the Free Music Archive. Good stuff

Trespassing is a 2LP compilation focussing on Dutch electronic artist Michel Banabila's incursions into otherworldly and imagined realms. LP1 is a compilation of works spanning over 20 years that acts as a bridge between his earliest work and his contemporary practice. LP2 is a reissue of his early masterpiece Marilli, a highly sough-after album that acts as both an LSD inspired DIY tribute to Byrne and Eno's Ghosts and a youthful exploration of Banabila's personal background and his experience as a squatter in Amsterdam in the early 80s.

  • Was supposed to go up to Borough Market with friends yesterday, ended up not going as I wanted to be back in time for an evening of free jazz / improv at my local craft beer shop. Music was provided by various members of the Lume and Raw Tonk labels. Ended up being a bit drunk and spending lots on cds. This little puppy features Tom Ward on bass clarinet and flute who played in the second duo last night.

I had always assumed that Raw Tonk was based in Manchester. It turns out that head honcho Colin Webster is based right here in Brockley.
With thought going out to the victims and families of yesterday's attack.
  • and from the Lume side of things

Cath Roberts (who co-organised last night) baritone
    Sam Andrae - tenor
    Anton Hunter - guitar
Set Bennett (who had to listen to me drone on about hair-raising rides over the Atlas Mountains) - bass
    Johnny Hunter - drums

Bandcamp can be your friend for both Luminous and Raw Tonk releases.

  • Just starting to explore this label at Bandcamp thanks to a "suggested group" post on Facebook. Who'd a thunk I'd ever be grateful for any of FB's suggested posts?

Unexplained Sounds Group is a platform run by Sonologyst (Raffaele Pezzella) to investigate the current undergroundexperimental worldwide music scene.
    Music is out there.

    Radio station:mixlr.com/unexplained-sounds/

Seems like 35 releases so far mainly comps some region specific, (Canada, Belgium, Russia etc.)
  • I haven't listened to one of these in a while - which was a mistake.
