    Pierre Henry (1927 - 2017)
It's gonna be a Pierre Henry weekend here at home.
He was the composer of my second favorite composition of all time.

Sad news.  As much as he has influenced my mp3 years, the only track of his I have in itunes is from Freak Magnet. I've been meaning to visit ubuweb and better late than never.  My first introduction to him was off this lp

and while I went on to follow Gary Wright I kind of forgot to look for Pierre.

  • Bill Frisell and Thomas Morgan - "Small Town"

    Write-up on BitW next week.

This album slipped my attention back in the seventies, eventhough I was a huge Spooky Tooth fan. I found it because of my interest in Pierre Henry

Another album with rock influences from 1973:

Listening to last weekends music from New Music Biennial 2017, from the BBC Radio 3 broadcasts. The 20 new commissions will also be available on NMC

    Currently:

    Gavin Bryars - Winestead

which is due out later today on NMC, and also on BBC

  • A great album, Jonah, looking forward to your review. And it is available on emusic in the UK, and, presumably, the rest of Europe.
  • Frank Sinatra - In the Wee Small Hours

A playlist of early rock n'roll music - Chuck Berry, Billy Haley etc
  • Grateful Dead - Dick's Picks Volume 3; Pembroke Pines Florida, 1977-05-22
  • The Flat Earth
The artwork for many of his releases was cool. This one not so much.

This is the first track from Jason Lescalleet's ALMOST IS ALMOST GOOD ENOUGH cassette. This tape was originally issued in an edition of 100 hand-numbered copies to be sold on tour. Glistening Examples will soon repress this album in an unnumbered edition

From new album "Radius Walk", out on Bureau B on July 7th, 2017!
