An amclark2 recommendation from 2011 on the Bandcamp Goodies thread. There are four titles available on Emu and plenty more on the Bandcamp page and yet more on the blog. Sprawling and immersive music to wallow in should you be in the mood.
Coil’s discography has fallen into neglect somewhat over the years as more and more releases have gone out of print. That was intended to change with the Threshold Archives (named after Coil’s label Threshold House), a project Peter Christopherson started in 2006 and which remained unfinished on his death in 2010. The Archive has now been completed by former Coil members, close friends, and family members following Christopherson’s blueprints. The collection brings back over 30 releases from Coil’s history beginning with early sketches and soundtracks (including the soundtrack to Derek Jarman’s The Angelic Conversation) up to a reissue of the duo’s final album,The New Backwards, featuring unreleased outtakes and new music.
The Archive also stresses upfront the impossibility of an “authorized” Coil release due to the deaths of both members (John Balance died in 2004, marking the end of the project), concluding that “without Balance and Sleaz, there is no official Coil release nor will there ever be again. Nothing that bears the word ‘Coil’ is authorized, official, or sanctioned by Coil as Coil has ceased to exist.” Despite that, the detail and dedication of these releases is worth the attention of any fan.
The Angelic Conversation (Instrumental)
This is music that formed the soundtrack to Derek Jarman’s long-form Super 8 film The Angelic Conversation (1985). This version is completely dame-free and features no Shakespearean sonnets. Many of these pieces exist here together and un-indexed as separate tracks.

The Weather Station - Loyalty. This one was on my SFL list for ages, last month bought it before my deadline came, glad I did. Have not posted much as I have been watching the Olympics, Team GB doing rather well
Love this album! Went thru many copies thru the years. As a child, I would practice playing drums to this album. As good as the title cut is, my favorites are still "Blue" and "Morning Change." His post-Cobblestone work was a real embarrassment tho.
@rostasi I don't think this DL has been available long, as I have looked before. I try not to judge - I doubt there's any name on that star-studded list that didn't make a stab at selling some records back in the day, with varying degrees of financial and musical success.
I recently came across this late offering from Blue Mitchell who, alas, tried to make a disco album
