Here is an article from Boing Boing on the instrument Mark Korven created to make the music for this film. He calls this multi-stringed instrument the The Apprehension Engine, and there is a short video demonstrating it.
I read the article (or another version of it) in the early summer, bought the soundtrack and have really enjoyed it. I know nothing about the film, which probably is terrible. The music has nods to Grygory Ligeti and Krzysztof Penderecki (esp. Kosmogonia, recently recommended in this thread).
Cuneiform have initiated a $5 Friday sales pitch on Bandcamp as many of you will know. Being a weekend anarchist I availed myself of the initial offering at 8.20 Saturday morning. Please don't tell the teacher on me.
