Todd's sprawling, synthy, proggy "Treatise on Cosmic Fire" from Initiation, 1975. ("evidently based on the occult treatise by Alice Bailey") Interesting to hear this again after some decades, and realize that it picks up some of the melodies from the pop tunes on side 1 of the album. The video above avers that Egberto Gismonti contributed to this piece, but I don't see any reference to that elsewhere
"A new mix done today with several subtle effects. I
still prefer the original and warmer mix without master effects, but
this one has advantages in clarity, additional instrumental blur and
bass power. Since I do not believe in the war of volumes, this new mix is not louder, but different in peaks placement.
"Music and things that may sound like music by Mat Ward. Mostly recorded using Finale notation
software. Sort of contemporary classical/experimental in nature. Too much percussion. May contain tracks that are nothing like the description above." Released March 5, 2018
Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith - Tides: Music for Meditation and Yoga
Really good and actually available at emu, and for a lower than average price!
This month they tried to get me to make a “new account” for $10/mo instead of $6.49/mo by offering me $50 credit. I thought about it for a second. But I don’t want to give them $10 a month!
During Copenhagen Jazz Festival 2012, the music collective and record
label Barefoot Records hosted eighteen concerts at the venue
Christianshavns Beboerhus.
In an attempt to document a moment in Danish improvised music and to
take a musical snapshot of the artists connected with Barefoot Records,
half of the concerts were recorded and this double-CD album is the
result.
For the concerts, five members of Barefoot Records invited colleagues
from near and far to participate in improvised constellations, some of
which were working groups while others met for the first time.
