I'm getting this rather bare, basic-looking window with pix on the left and "new discussion" info on the right. Also, hitting the return key while typing jumps two lines below the previous line. I think I'm losing a lot of graphic info, but I'm not sure what's happened. Maybe it's my Chrome update? I don't know. Anyone else getting this skeleton look?
Yes, The sidebar has moved from right to left, return key works as it's always has. and I see no pix on the left (if it's pix as in pictures ?) . . . I think skeleton look describes the new look quite well. (both in Crome and Firefox)
As mentioned by @eythian on the Upgrade thread, there's some design features available and it's up to us and someone with access to the "machine room" (like @Germanprof )

"Tokyo’s FLAU cerebrates their 10years anniversary with the waltz
compilation. Actually 2018 is 11years, but they was gotten by big
burglary last year, finally time has come. The waltz was called also "a
dance to draw circle" in Japan, each artists interpretated of the
meaning of the waltz. All artistscomes from several countries ~Europe,
South America, Australia and Japan~, but the owner invited all (except
Frédéric D. Oberland) to Japan and deepened relationship on the tour.
This is also a record of the margin where connected via music. There are
no nostalgia or sentimental flow on all songs, just music and there we
feel intimacy that makes me feel love a certain time."
@rostasi, eythian upgraded the site and it has a new skin, it does look more bare bones (Aka sleek and minimalist ;-)) and the new discussions stuff has moved to the right. Not sure about the line breaks in Chrome though, though text is appearing further apart in the editor than it appears once I hit post. There is a thread on it here: https://www.emusers.net/forum/discussion/1693/upgrade-coming#latest
Oh, so it’s suppose to look this way. ? I was confused because it looks just like the way a page looks when all of the graphics fail to load and it has that highly “texted” look with few graphics while you refresh the page to get back the proper page (I found myself doing this several times). OK, so, ummmm... OK. ? Is there a reason why all of what slight personality there was was stripped away from the site?
I think what we have is a template you can build on or "personalize", like this one.
In my opinion, this forum could become much more inviting with a nice picture and a few words at the top where it only says emusers.org.
Yep, exactly. It's using the absolute stock theme which is a bit boring. Happy to help with changing this sort of thing, but it's not up to me to decide how you want it to look

Was there a complaint about the previous layout? It looked just fine - rather easy to instantly see when there were new comments with its use of bold and unbold and numericals, etc. This just kinda looks broken.
For those who enjoyed the two Sam Wilkes/Sam Gendel albums on Leaving Records, as I did, there is another album of three long tracks, "Double Expression," at eMusic (but apparently not Bandcamp)

No, but the old version was unsupported and at risk of security issues, so I upgraded it and it came with a new theme. There are a handful of built-in themes and then variants within those themes available, including looking like the previous version. I just left it as the default, admins can poke through the settings and change things if they like - you're welcome to encourage them to do so. Same goes for making a pretty banner if someone has any artistic skills. I sure don't.
From a podcast series I'm about three years behind in, currently playing is:
OK, thanks for the info. I can see why it's called "Vanilla" now. I kinda lazily looked at their website for some kind of modern themes, but didn't see where they kept them. I was thinking it was more like WordPress, but anyway someone has access to the themes somewhere. Also, I have no problem making artwork - just need dimensions and what to say in the text (or just general style suggestions). Anyway, we'll see what develops ...

- One vote from yours truely to encourage the admin ( @Germanprof and ?)
I started taking a look at the new options, but it will not be super quick - I have a series of conferences in a series of countries for the next few weeks and not much stable time (or, to be more accurate, mental energy and will) to focus on this. If someone else wants to jump in, go ahead, otherwise I will get to it (and the other question about the beginner’s guide) in the medium term...
^^ Medium quick will do just fine . . . . . . Thanks !

Great ! . . . I'd love to help but I'm not that good with words and letting me into the machine room could have disasterous consequences . . .

I can't tell you anything about dimensions, because it doesn't appear to be documented. As such, perhaps it doesn't matter too much. As for words, just distil the conversations here into a short pithy phrase. Easy!
Here are the current settings, and what's available:
Started reading the Miles Davis section in the History of Jazz last night, wanting to hear more. This is something I've rarely played so worth a listen!

I agree some images etc would be good, but we do need someone who has those skills to do it. Sadly I wouldn't know where to start, even less to do it.
