I'm currently heavily into the Kosmicher Laufer releases (that are available) - recommended for anyone into motorik/krautrock or the Ghost Box label. They've also got a nice (entirely false) back-story about being music composed to accompany East Germany's athletes' training/recovery programmes too!
I dld'd all 5 that were available back in December and now I'm just waiting to get back to the Ks.
Do you ever have those days when an album you thought you knew suddenly lights up for you? I have had this for years, listened to it from time to time, but this morning it suddenly became luminous and I listened to it three times through one after the other. Exactly what my brain wanted, apparently.
Fifth in a series of curated double albums of usually ambient materiel, though this one shifts a bit toward vintage techno sounds. Liking this one a lot. (It's still on emusic).
Well, I just finished listening to Pt 2 as I really needed a break to let Pt 1 sink in. All in, a really interesting and enjoyable listen. If that's what it's going to sound like then I've been setting myself up pretty good. Thanks again. Current 93
Well, when I saw William Parker's Curtis Mayfield album it immediately made me go to the vinyl to pull out Super Fly and Shaft to transport me back when I was still a teenager, alas no Super Fly. Darn kids! or.....Me? Off to iTunes
Musical Observations, Inc. is a non-profit corporation founded by Paul Zukofsky in 1975 to promote new music and support
musical projects he
felt would otherwise be ignored. Today Musical Observations, Inc.
carries on his legacy by making available the recordings on his CP²
label and his critical writings on (mostly) music available at our
website.
@Brighternow - Thanks for the link to Musical Observations, Inc. on Bandcamp. I collected quite a few from this label from eMusic, but there were some not there or were removed before I could get to them. I particularly enjoyed Jo Kondo - Mulberry, which is "now playing" as I download another or hers from Bandcamp.
