  • And to top it off - Throbbing Gristle courtesy of archive.org.
Throbbing Gristle's "24 Hours" box set released in 1980. Basically collection of every
live set to that date. Originally packaged as 24 60 minute cassettes in a briefcase and
only available for a limited time through mail order at a cost of 80 pounds. Probably
the most absurdly elaborate box set of the pre-compact disk era. Now out of print.

Well, 22:18 hrs actually, IRC02-IRC24 of which I tried to pick a few with the least
overlaps to start. I've only got 1 track from Business Unusual (The Other Record Collection)
in my vinyl library. I could only find 49 secs of United but there's lots of "Untitled" tracks so
I'll keep an ear out next time through.

  • Well, that got me thinking about the past so I spent some time looking through the vinyl.
They always bring back some great memories plus there's nothing like holding on to that
square foot and reading the liner notes as the turntable spins.

I just had to hook up the turntable and give it another spin. Side 2 is still the best plus the fold out poster is still in mint condition.
    Ahh, those 80's-my 30's.

Dick Dale, the king of twang:

As I remember it, he had a revival about 20 years ago because of a soundtrack to a movie that I can't remember the name of. He subsequently started a tour including Copenhagen.
    - He was sooooo cool ! . . . RIP

Great find, I'm sure I've heard it before, but it had completely fallen off my radar. I could stare at that picture for hours too.
  • Earlier I played the SFJazz Collective Miles Davis album in the car. Now back home playing
