@Germanprof, now you've got me hooked on Jean Michel Jarre--why couldn't I have come across him when I was 16? Having just breathed my way through Oxygene, now I'm digging this too:

Not a bad thing to get hooked on :-) The catalog is very patchy, but I think his recent albums have been a return to form. Oxygene and Equinoxe were special, though. Thanks for the Tomita - that's fun.
Thanks for the reminder GP. I've still got the LP somewhere that I bought when it first came out. I'll have to explore him more as I've only got this and Equinox as CDs/mp3s. Any recommendations?

I got as far as Zoolook before losing interest. There are of course two albums before Oxygene that most people don't know about. But they are on another tip.
It's been over 2 years since I've played either of these Pierres. They're mostly from the many tracks from the História da Música Eletroacústica(UbuWeb) that I found corresponding albums for and a newer download from Emusic.
Three experimental reels from the Basil Kirchin Tape Archive. From
killer pastoral jazz to wild sonic experiments with autistic children,
pigs and tape machines. You've never heard anything quite like it.

That’s about where he lost me too. But the third of the Oxygens albums I thought better than the second (if not nearly as good as the first), and the recent Equinoxe Infinity I enjoy too.
