I discovered Andrew Tasselmyer's solo music quite recently, through buying the Eilean Rec label discography. His own entire solo discography, including that excellent Eilean Rec album, is $1 (or more) on Bandcamp for 17 releases. I have enjoyed every piece I have listened to by him so far, and this new one sounds really great too. Ambient/drone/field recordings.
(I discovered belatedly he's part of Hotel Neon, a name familiar to me going further back, whose entire discography, another 16 releases, can be had for $5.20, with part of the proceeds going to charity).
This album was recorded in an old, partially abandoned cement factory
close to the borders of Russia and China. Its skeletal metal structures
are rich in haunting low-frequency (over)tones, Jan's highly sensitive
geophones (devices used for seismic recording) allow us to hear the
earth-shaking sonic worlds of these ghostly locations.
