I hadn't realised that it had been so long since I was last here. Lockdown weather has been so good I've been outside gardenng and also listening to music outside using some new headphones. This led to me totally revising the music on my iPod to gwe better quality recordings. I've redownloaded a lot of CDs to get lossless versions. Consequently I've started afresh on my iPod. It has a decent memory (120 GB) but now that a lot are lossless there is less on it, so I have been more selective. There is still enough for about 6 weeks continuous play!! Although I am not in the shielding group, I'm not far off (70 in October and type 2 diabetes) so I have been very careful in going out other than for my daily walk with the dog. My niece/Goddaughter, a teacher in her 20s, has had CV19, and it is taking ages for her to fully recover, she's been quite poorly, so I am trying hard to avoid it.
We talked about inching this toward Playlist 20 during 2020. Now, we have to think of something that involves the number 19 (hmmm, what could that be...)

19th Nervous Breakdown would seem the obvious choice ;-) But I'd like to put an Early Bird bid in for 20 Small Cigars. I could of course help by posting more of what I'm listening to...
Just started reading You’ll
Know When You Get There: Herbie Hancock and the Mwandishi Band by Bob Gluk. This a proto Mwandishi offering recorded in 1969. Originally released under Alfred Heath's name and later under either/or Don Cherry or Herbie Hancock. Most of the tracks written by Mtume who I didn't realise until just now was Alfred Heath's son and therefore Jimmy Heath's nephew.
- "OH NO THE BARBER'S SHUT AND THE HAIRDRESSER LOCKED THE DOOR
IF THE THATCH GROWS OVER THE EYES AND THE EARS, GET THE SHEARS AND COVER THE FLOOR
BUT THOSE THAT ARE SHORN MAYBE BREAKING THE RULES
OR ELSE HAVE SOMEONE AT HOME WITH THE TOOLS
AND THE SKILL TO DO A HALF-DECENT JOB
OF A SHORT BACK AND SIDES OR A C-19 BOB
BOB BOB CROP THE BOB
OH WE'RE ALL CROSSING OVER TO THE HAIRY ZONE
SO THE PERFECT GROOMING OF THE TV TALENT
FAILS OVER TIME WITH THEIR HAIR APPARENT
AS IT CROSSES OVER, CROSSES OVER TO THE HAIRY ZONE
YOU KNOW AT SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE THEY MAY GIVE A WRY SMILE AND SAY
THERE WAS A NEW, UNRULY HAIR STYLE THAT DEFINED THE TIMES AND, FOR IT'S
CRIMES AGAINST THE CROP, THAT CAME TO BE KNOWN AS THE VIRUS MOP."
Ps- Although my alphabet adventure is taking longer than I thought, it's always great to return to one that checks all my boxes- interesting voices, some chaos(opens & closes), randomness, a great musical score and most important "I really need to hear this again ***** rating. Sun's been out for a while and it looks dry enough to return splitting up a passel of Hens & Chicks, I'm off....and back to the rotation.
