I've got a real soft spot for Sir Lord Baltimore, particularly their first album "Kingdom Come" and wow what a cover!
AMG says that "..Sir Lord Baltimore were arguably America's first bona fide heavy metal band, and the funny thing is, they didn't even know it, since the style had yet to establish itself when the band first burst onto the scene".
AMG says "Few rock groups can claim to have broken so much new territory, and maintain such consistent brilliance on record, as the Velvet Underground during their brief lifespan" and "The quintessential bohemian New York band of the '60s that fused art, rock, and poetry in a fashion that proved incalculably influential"
And about the album itself "One would be hard-pressed to name a rock album whose influence has been as broad and pervasive as The Velvet Underground & Nico".
British avantgarde/art-rock group, founded in May 1968 at Cambridge University by multi-instrumentalists Fred Frith and Tim Hodgkinson. Other important long-term members alongside Frith and Hodgkinson were drummer Chris Cutler, bassist John Greaves and bassoonist/oboist Lindsay Cooper. Henry Cow disbanded in 1978.
- Just to say that a remastered version was released by Morphius Records on Bandcamp today:
This was my favourite Beach Boys album back in the day. The British version of this was so much better than the U.S. one as it had extra specials like "Help Me Rhonda", "Sloop John B", "God Only Knows" and, top of my list for the BBs, "California Girls".
Since I last looked at this thread, so many album covers that take me way back. CSNY 4 Way Street was one I used to play incesantly. I haven't got it as a digital version, but I still play the other two. Other memories include that Beach Boys compilation. Others I owned way back include Colloseum Those About to Die and a couple of the Country Joe and the Fish LPs.Recently I've been playing Carole King's back catalogue including

And we shouldn't forget their great first album although, in my opinion, it's not as good as East-West.
