@Brighternow thanks and another great album for the download list!
Isn't it great that no matter how big your collection of rock from this great (if not the greatest) period, you can always discover new, outstanding bands that you have never heard of before!
All Music Guide says "Always one of the most exquisite-sounding records of the mid-'70s, Blue Pine Trees was the sound of Unicorn at the peak of their musical and songwriting abilities. An album that puts you in mind of Lindisfarne before they got desperate.........roots in the sounds of the American West Coast are unmistakable. But, on the other, they never forget their English roots and, mindful too of their familial links to Pink Floyd (Dave Gilmour produced the best of their albums)"
AMG says "The Five Faces of Manfred Mann is one of the great blues-based British invasion albums; it's a hot, rocking record that benefits from some virtuoso playing as well, and some of the best singing of its era, courtesy of Paul Jones".
Well, my turn to get to The Doors and it's impossible to pick a favourite. For my desert isle album I'd choose this as it gives a good selection from their discography.
^^Once again, it's too hard to pick a favourite. Although I've been re-listening in chronological order, it's not necessarily the order that I've added them to the library. Always on the hunt for a bargain they've been added as I found them over the years. The first Bowie album I added was Ziggy Stardust and the last was Stage from my wife's collection. David Bowie
My first post for this smelly old hippy thread. A new discovery for me, cosmic folk on the mighty Pilz label. Mainly female / male vocal duo with acoustic guitar and a sparse backing, some piano and synth. That said things kick off on the final track a 10 minute voyage called Die Reise.
Well, my turn to catch up with them. My first exposure was through the Otis Spann album. It's been over 30 years since I've played some of these and this might be the last time they get a spin. Fleetwood Mac
Another one I played a lot way back then. As a student I couldn't afford to buy full albums. This was the way to hear a range of rock music - no streaming then!!

A Swedish band that I really like is Ragnarök especially their s/t album.
Excellent hard rock album from 1971. Best tracks are "Joy", "Mythical Dream", "Creation A Child" and "Marriage".
