If you have visited the eMusic site for old times’ sake, you will have noticed that they have a new feature of live concerts via “eMusic Live”.
Bizarrely, virtually all the artists are Australian and the concerts based in Australia. Why bizarre? Well, eMusic hasn’t taken on any new Australian members since 2011!
One of the best 1960s Psychedelic/Hard Rock albums and available for $US4.99 on Bandcamp.
AMG says “Stone Garden is an always blistering and often thrilling racket that splits the difference between the plundering depths of hard rock and the mind-excursion highs of psychedelia”.
PS well, it's a little late as there are other posts but, I just wanted to mention just how much I enjoyed listening to these again. This last one is a new addition and just a great way to finish this session. And as this is @Brighternow's other tribute thread I have to tell you he introduced me to all these artists. Thanks again.
Love watching this concert. If you think Daevid Allen looks wonderfully goofy in this clip, you should see him later when they do “Oily Way”. Fun 2-hour plus concert. Just an excerpt here:
Moppa Elliott and his gang recreate - note for note - Kind of Blue. Not quite sure what the purpose was. (The MOPDTK title is just Blue.)
For the record I found this at last.fm:
MILES DAVIS ESTATE OFFICIAL STATEMENT: “I Vincent Wilburn Jr., drummer and nephew of Miles Davis, and Cheryl A. Davis, daughter of Miles Davis, want to clarify that “Blue” the ultimate tribute by the band Mostly Other People Do The Killing, is not supported by us, nor done with our cooperation or participation."
