“Fandangos in Space” the 1973 album by Carmen. A fabulous, distinctive blend of progressive rock coupled with flamenco themes and rhythms. One of my all time favourite albums.
AMG says “Released in 1973, Fandangos in Space introduced to the world the one of a kind blend of flamenco music and progressive rock of Carmen.……it is a stunning demonstration of virtuosity, creativity, and songwriting skills.”
During my last few months at eMusic, before it finally imploded to its current state, I bought a number of boosters and downloaded a fair amount of jazz in particular. Many of those albums I played once at the time, so I'm going through them to see if there are any I'd like to play more often. This falls into that category

I fondly recall that Sean Jones recording.

Less Bells - "Mourning Jewelry"
Nice Kranky release. There's a couple Less Bells recordings that float my boat.
CD packaging by Caroline Kraabel, using ink, paper, card, rubber stamps, wool, fabric. whats wrong: yes, no, may be... are they?
Caroline Kraabel, alto sax and voice Pat Thomas, piano
Improvisations by Caroline Kraabel and Pat Thomas, played at The Vortex in December 2022 and recorded by Alex Ward.
All of the music made on the day is included here, in the order in which it was played.
released September 2, 2023
How I used to love having a bitch and moan about the Vortex with it's crappy sight lines, noise from the square outside and cramming too many chairs around small tables. Of course I miss it badly being up in Orkney...
Just dug this one up on the hard drive I have a vinyl rip from a long gone music blog as my source but here is the whole thing on YouTube. Nigerian Hi-Life from 1975/6. The first track especially just floors me.

That first track is fantastic, I'm now going on to play the rest, thanks
