AMG says that Adrian Sherwood is “Long one of the most influential and innovative figures on the U.K. reggae scene, producer Adrian Sherwood and his famed On-U Sound label pioneered a distinctive fusion of dub, rock, and dance that made waves not only in roots circles but also in the pop mainstream” and says of the album “Survival & Resistance” “This is mostly low-ebb dub, full of implied menace and tension. It's nocturnal, suggestive, and spacey; it's the shadowy spirit of rebellion”
Celebrating the Australian team beating the French to go through to the semifinals of Soccer Women’s World Cup. And where better to be doing that than on holiday in Paris!
And what better to remind me of home than listening to the song by The Church “Under The Milky Way” from their album “Starfish”.

^^^@Germanprof - Thanks, I recently downloaded Ian Hawgood's Koen Music label and the 15 album discography is still available for £1. Looking forward to the eyes.
Giulio Aldinucci -Giulio Aldinucci was born in Siena (Italy) in 1981 and began learning music when he was a child. In addition to his musical research, that always focuses on different synthesis methods and on the use of field recordings, he also writes music for acoustic instruments. I've really enjoyed all I've heard so far and recently added Tarsia & Goccia to the collection.
Northern (Redux) is a complete
reimagining of Deupree's acclaimed 2006 album featuring new piano
contributions written and recorded by Fraites along with renewed
versions of the original tracks composed by Deupree. The result is a
hypnotic, majestic album filled with sweeping atmospheric melodies and
rich, transformative soundscapes.
According to iTunes last full listen was 2017. We had our first cobs of corn & wax beans from the garden last night. Add in a beer can chicken and a potato and it's a feast. The beans were perfect and the corns almost there. They stood up tall this year, well over 9', surviving some pretty harsh storms. Looks to be the winner this year. (edit- Just checked the forecast and there's another harsh storm in the forecast as the day heats up. Looks like a bean picking day) Time to revisit an old favourite. Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Perfect shoegaze from Alison’s Halo’s 1997 album “Eyedazzler 1992-1996”.
AMG says “Alison's Halo used their love of British groups like My Bloody Valentine, Ride, the Verve, and Slowdive as inspiration to create their own brand of noisy space pop”.
Lazing by the pool on holiday in Crete listening to “Alvin Lee - The Anthology”. In particular, enjoying “Bluest Blues” (George Harrison also on guitar), “Help Me Baby” and, an all time favourite of mine, “I’m Coming Home” from his Ten Years After heyday.
Alvin has to be one of the most underrated guitarists.
Alvin has to be one of the most underrated guitarists.
Totally agree - he was amazing with Ten Years After, many would argue better than Clapton at that time. I've just searched iTunes to find something by him to play and have totally failed. I need to remedy that soon!

I kinda lost interest after Ten Years and Pump Iron! but totally agree on the guitar. I thought I had it on vinyl but it's not there, must have been from one of my pals.
By the way, it hailed like crazy for about 5 minutes the other night while putting on quite the display into the early morning. It looks like fall here with parts of leaves scattered everywhere, but while most things were quite bruised, the corn's still standing. Much luckier than some folks around the country having to flee their homes due to fire & rain (not the James Taylor kind).
I started at the archives and found this Nerve Center A most enjoyable and interesting listen, in spite of the long silence at the end. That always sends me heading for the speaker connections to see if they cut out or not. Drat! Anyway, that sent me to Bandcamp and that almost made me croak when I saw the size of his discographies. There's no way I could ever get around to that kind of a commitment now. But, I really enjoyed the listen and decided to start here. Thanks to @jonahpwll for all your recommendations. Even though he's not playing bass on this one, how could one resist after that great review. I'm sure next time through to the Cs I'll have found some more. I sure enjoyed all that Gibberish, Balderdash And Drivel Not what I expected and happy what I found.
American Football’s s/t Post Rock/Alternative album from 1999.
AMG says “American Football's songs dig deep into uncommon time signatures and jazz-influenced chords, and even implement understated trumpet and electric piano into their web of interlocking guitar runs and muted, softly smiling vocals. Happening concordantly with a thriving post-rock movement hubbed close by in Chicago, the band has hints of the same musical crosscurrents of Tortoise or Gastr del Sol, setting their songs apart from the flock”.
“Dance of the Goodbyes”, “Second Split” and “Quiet Euphoria” by Progressive Rock/Canterbury Scene style Spanish band Amoeba Split.
A ProgArchives review of their first album, “Dance of the Goodbyes” issued in 2010 says “This is the time to celebrate the emergence of such a lovely progressive dance in the key of 21st century Canterbury from Spain's Northeastern coast. Amoeba Split has delivered a beautiful album in which jazzy vibrations and melodic colorfulness fuse in an appealing dynamics”.
Their third album, “Quiet Euphoria”, is currently ranked no. 7 for 2023 by ProgArchives.
Their 2021 album How to breathe Like a Stone was excellent. This new one is sounding really good too. Very richly textured.
@confused I have not dug out Gregor Samsa for a while. memory tells me I really liked one track of 55:12, but curiously the album seems to be gone from my library.
@Germanprof -I've found that by going through the alphabet I've found lots of artists that I haven't heard for a long time except for the odd track that makes it through the rotation. These folk's last full listen was 2019. If my ratings are correct I liked the DJ Logic album the most. Groundtruther w/Greg Osby - Latitude w/DJ Logic - Longitude
