thom - Good to hear! We always listened to his tapes on long car trips, and my family took A LOT of long car trips. In fact, we heard so much of him that my younger brother and I begged my parents to take us to see him on the Storm Front tour. Happily they went along with it.
Just been to our local Library and borrowed a couple of CDs. Already finished

From the early 1970s to the mid 1980s this was the only TV programme in the UK playing non single chart music, with live sets by artists mainly from the UK and USA
@doofy - thanks for the Steve Reich album. It shows the ridiculous nature of emusic's pricing system. In the UK it came out at 42p as it is one track long. Once my bonus is taken into account on my plan, it works out at less than 25 cents for an album nearly an hour long. I could hardly not download, even if I only play once and don't like it. (I'm sure I will though!)
I just finished reading Rip it Up and Start Again the other day and snagged a few of the better reviewed albums from mtraks yesterday (hence this one and The Slits). So I'm in a post punk groove right now.
re: Reich. Personally, I got it on Guvera for a single (free) credit. It's just an eye-opener to me that this music could be labeled as "minimal," when it is so lush-sounding and demanding (for the musicians, if not the listener!). Particularly in these days of techno, drone, ambient, push-a-button-and-it-plays...

A Rock Opera for the kiddies.
Hat tip, Craig.
Minimalism, huh?
- Yeah ! :
I find it hilarious that Amazon censored the cover for the new Kanye, but this one? Just fine.
If anyone has a problem with me posting it, let me know and I'll change it to just a link. I don't think anyone will, but one never knows.

@Craig, post a larger image and let me look it over...

Not as poppy as 2010's Phosphene Dream. Psychedelic.

it's okay, craig. there are really good programs for this sort of thing, where you can work through your issue in a secure, supportive environment.
He doesn't need therapy. He needs an exorcist.
And so do you!
I've always been confused about whether or not Billy Joel is a minimalist too.
