Enjoyed some of this greatly a while back as slightly creepy night driving music in the car. Somehow it doesn't work for me today on headphones. Wanting to like it because I generally like Robert Henke's work...stuck it out to the end but never quite connected. Switching now to this, which is very nice. Gobi by Monolake
@cafreema "It got old for me real quick." I have been through it maybe five or six times, and is seems to me that there is one basic "song shape," very limited development, repeating a basic melody, someimtes quiet, sometimes loud.
I enjoy Cave, but the songs all sound quite a bit alike. I have enjoyed the lyric content, that will keep me interested for a while.
thom - I don't think P4K got it right. While I think it has become overrated in the general public, it's not a 2.8 or whatever P4K gave it. I'd say mid 4s.
I was looking at Ledward Kaapana, whose tunes are American blues and ragtime at their root. Perhaps that's par for the course, but that might be direction at my next refresh.
"The Buzz!Ro 2010 compilation features 17 of the best Romanian electronic music producers consecrated or aspiring. The variety of styles and genres it holds doesn't come as a shock - it comes as a surprise. Buzz!RO does not aim to please but it manages to be personal. If you believe it doesn't synchronize with your tastes then it will definitely synchronize with the taste of people dancing in some other, different club than you. And igniting a controversy is what every good compilation should do. Welcome to contemporary Romania!"
