Bad Thoughts.... two weeks ago you posted this. When I saw that I decided to check his website and saw that he'll be playing a gig in Dallas on 5/26. This afternoon I bought a pair of tickets and will be taking my oldest son as a surprise (Stan is his favorite musician; he'll freak when he finds out). Thanks for posting that and starting a sequence of events that my son and I are sure to enjoy.
I love Kate Rusby's voice, if she had been singing in a different genre from folk I'm sure she'd have been a much bigger star. My favourite from this album is her version of the Kinks' Village Green Preservation Society. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMnhsr1IJQs
@luddite: You are a cool dad! Stan made me feel all nostalgic ... he was such an L.A. figure. I blasted "Camouflage" all week long. I need to catch up on what he's been doing. Please come back to say how the show was.
It's Cinco, so:
Later:
San Patricio by The Chieftains
Another Band From East LA by Los Lobos
I guess the same can be said about solo piano music as about experimental music; there is absolutely nothing wrong with this, but I don't see me listening to it more than once.
I'm already nearly through this without realising I'd actually moved onto it. It shows how short LPs generally were 40 years ago compared to most CDs today
The music on here fits the hues of the cover - very unassuming, kind of a sleepy variety of post-rock, easily sits unnoticed in my virtual record collection. But when you actually pay attention to it it is really rather nice.
The artist of the moment in the UK. If you listen to most popular music radio stations for half an hour you'll hear an Adele track being played. She is regularly on television. She is also the first artist since the Beatles to have two albums and two singles in the respective top ten charts at the same time. Some record!

Folky Singer-Songwriter, Americana. Sounds good so far.

Another Amie find.
Dead Air for Radios by Chroma Key
I like most of what Kevin Moore has done since leaving Dream Theater.
Finally realized that this was on Guvera twice because one set is the "Deluxe Edition" so it's time to d/l away!

It's a shame that listeners became less interested as these guys became more interesting.

Solo album by Bellowhead's picker.
Elwood's post yesterday reminded me I haven't listened to this in a while.
