What a morning that was. And there I was sitting on a BB card. I got not only the Neil, but also the big Ornette and Dylan sets, plus a couple lesser steals.
Argh, really kicking myself for not getting the NY box set because I thought I was going to get the physical copy (which I then heard wasn't worth it).
Before:
The bonus tracks aren't really worth it for most people, but I really love the job they did remastering these albums.
I had forgotten how much I love this album, glad that Amazon reminded me that I hadn't heard it in a while and that it was missing from my collection. It was a definitive part of my teenage roadtrip soundtrack.

@ Bad Thoughts - love that Sigrid Moldestad. I downloaded Taus a couple of years ago on emu (don't see it on there now, though). But her newer album, Sandkorn is still there, and I love that one. Includes a really nice Danish version of 'Ae Fond Kiss.'
FYI: Sandkorn = Grain of Sand in Norwegian (and Danish). The songtitles suggests that she is Norwegian.
- ETA: Definitely Norwegian.
- More Strange Attractor @ Bandcamp:
- With very interesting guests:
Winston Tong (Tuxedomoon)
Marie-Claudine (Sonar Lodge)
Ryan Moore (Twilight Circus)
David J (Bauhaus, Love and Rockets)
Peter Christopherson (Throbbing Gristle)
Jeroen van Vliet (Gatecrash)
Eric van der Westen (E-Quad)
Graham Lewis (Wire, He Said, Dome)
Bart Maris (Think of One, Briskey)
Richard Sinclair (Hatfield a/t North, Caravan)
@Brighternow - re Moldestad, woops - thanks for the correction. Yes, Norwegian. And she sings Ae Fond Kiss in Norwegian. That's what I get for posting off the top of my head!
Too good to pass up at eMu. This set seems to present the full sessions from which the 2 albums were drawn. It's really a whole other side of Ray, makes you wish he had recorded more straight-ahead jazz.
I think I've said this before, but most of this album is OK, while the track "Com(?)" is incredible. (It's on youtube in two parts: Part 1 and part 2 - you have to listen to the whole thing to get the effect, as it's one of those slow burn to massive crescendo tracks, but with a climactic fury equalled by few other post rock acts. The emusic review calls it "a quarter of an hour of titanic noisemongering").

The one benefit to major labels at eMu. 125 track box sets mispriced at 12 nps.

A number of these free on soundcloud. Nice stuff if you want a mellow background of dubby electronica that burbles on for an hour or more.
Ultra-mellow.

About as serene as it gets.

Electric cello/viola - based ambient. Quite nice. Free.
Another eMu box set error.
I'm in too good of a mood to not listen to the Ramones. Some days going to court is a lot of fun.
