Just realized through looking for a link for this that ~Scape records is apparently no more - and their stuff has been pulled from emusic, Amazon, iTunes...presumably everywhere. And there are some great, great albums, including this one. Very sad. Glad I already had the Deadbeat and Pole titles. Grab those used CD copies before the price goes up.
I borrowed this from our local library yesterday - not sure I'll last through a double CD in one go! One of the issues for me of prog rock is that the memory of it rates more highly than listening to it now
"The Fastest Way To Become The Ocean' is a four track EP recorded especially for Serein. Once again joined by collaborators, the EP features guitarist Jeff Parker of Tortoise on 'Nine Lives' (A2), while Liz Payne lends vocals and melodica to the closing track, 'What We Have Left' (B2). The tracks were mixed by long-time Colorlist cohort, Josh Eustis."
greg - It's on Jagjaguwar over here so the U.S. eMu should get it. I'm hoping it will be an Amazon deal though like the last big Jagjaguwar release (Okkervil River).
Do you think Sara Quin would be angry that I listen to both them and Tyler, the Creator?

$5.99 at emu, but you can download the whole thing free at LastFM. Lively, pleasant IDM. Not my favorite thing ever but quite pleasant.
Another great set, though it might make more sense if it were titled, "Let Me Tell You About The Blues: The Evolution of New York Folk."

Bon Iver - Bon Iver on NPR First Listen
Amazon Preorder
Bloodshot Records Spring Cleaning Sampler (free)
Playing from my Amazon Cloud Player.
The Amazon Cloud Player is great for me because I've been holding off on the freebies for lack of disc space.
Now listening to a stream of Bon Iver's new eponymous album, available at http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/musicblog/2011/jun/09/bon-iver-new-album I note that over here, at least, it is on 4AD, which means we won't be getting it on emusic this time
Thanks Kenny for reminding me that I had downloaded this, but had only played a couple of tracks then
This was the original UK cover - I think you got a different one in the States

Then...
Interesting to see this among the top recently DL'd jazz albums on eMu.

A very well spent $3.14 over at eMu.
Ah, if only I could right click on that work laptop I could do this more often.
