The Spotify links take you to a page where you can jump to the album if you have Spotify installed. I didn't use spotify: links because they don't work on all devices.
Don't get me wrong--I like a well-done remaster. I also want to hear what this sounded like in 1971 (technically, I did, in 1971). Spotify only has the remaster.
Daniel Thomas Freeman - The Beauty Of Doubting Yourself
"Daniel Thomas Freeman is a founding and current member of Rameses III, the South London group who in the last ten years have released ambient / drone / folk albums on labels such as Type, Important, Digitalis and Under The Spire and who have supported such genre luminaries live as Stars Of The Lid, Current 93, Murcof, Fursaxa, James Blackshaw, Yellow Swans and Astral Social Club.
The Beauty Of Doubting Yourself is a deeply personal document from the Rameses III musician Daniel Thomas Freeman. Written over a period of six years this instrumental album is split into three movements chronologically representing the artists deep depression, his slow transition to recovery and his eventual experience of grace.
Whereas Rameses IIIs music is designed to instill beauty and peace with every release, this album is a challenging yet rewarding listen in its own right whilst keeping the luxurious depth of the later Rameses III recordings . . . . ."

I probably won't be making many posts over the next month or so. My wife is off work later today until the end of August and in ten days time we're off on holiday, so not many opportunities to get to the computer before then!

"Revered Austrian experimental musician returns to the Touch fold for this superlative ten-inch EP, recorded in January, Vienna and featuring a close collaboration with American drummer Steven Hess. This last point is crucial, with Hess in the live room, Fennesz's starkly beautiful guitar+electronic arrangements are given a percussive power that we have rarely witnessed. Exciting times...."

Meanwhile, I noticed a funny note on the AMZ page for the recent Keith Jarrett/Charlie Haden album Jasmine (on which I have been hoping for a sale):
Item Under Review
While this item is available from other marketplace sellers on this page, it is not currently offered by Amazon.com because customers have told us there may be something wrong with our inventory of the item, the way we are shipping it, or the way it's described here. (Thanks for the tip!)
We're working to fix the problem as quickly as possible.
That looks like a good one, BT. Is it just providence hunting these out there? Plowing through the inanities that the search function churns out there unless you have the artist name has been rough lately.
BTW, was just listening yesterday to this sweet rec you gave previously - The Art Of The Lute - that is a great find.
@BigD: Don't laugh, but I did a little research on what labels tend to have lower prices at what vendors. My eMu account expired this week, and we won't have a lot of extra cash because we're looking for a house (just signed this week). Indeed, this album was a little reward to myself for nailing down a loan today (hopefully not in the nick of time). 7Dig's search function is getting worse, but I found this one because I was looking at what big sets were available at Amazon. Indeed, just use the advanced search for the label or composer, select for albums and sort by price (highest to lowest). There aren't that many labels, outside the majors, that put out big sets. The I take the result over 7dig to see if something comes up.

So far, this is rather nice. Sakura by Susuma Yokota.
ETA: actually, it charmed me less and less as it went on.
This was a bit better - piano loops with some sound effects and electronics.
excuse the double post, but this is just so good: Kleenex/Liliput - 45 song/2 disc collection is a good deal at $5.

Via Spotify, still working through the soundtrack of my misspent youth. Suddenly I have an urge to listen to Roxy Music, though.
Slow, Eastern-inspired improvisations. Nice. Free
The first "Jazz Messengers" album from 1956 is kind of a revelation. Decent price at eMu too.
Wake UP!
