I've always liked Georgie Fame since first seeing him perform in the very late 1960s. If you do not know his work, it is a very British combination of blues/jazz/big band. A couple of his 1990s albums were uploaded to emusic yesterday, including this one. In recent years he is perhaps more known to a wider audience by his organ playing and vocals with Van Morrison, especially in the 1990s
Second play, half way through. A pleasant album with Brazillian jazz 'tinges', but IMO nothing really outstanding other than Save it for a Rainy Day with Eric Clapton on guitar
Silva by Various Artists (incl. Makunouchi Bento, Marsen Jules, Deaf Center, Svarte Greiner etc)
Was looking for albums on my emusic SFL on Spotify to do some thinking. The first five consecutive albums were not on spotify, whose selection still sucks. This was the first one they had. Some nice stuff.
Fabio Orsi - Picture Myself In A Cloud - "Another journey over Italy in a sky full of drone meditations and floating melodies. An impressive work by one of the new masters of drone music."
Zeena Parkins - Between the Whiles - (Table Of The Elements 2010)
"Having collaborated with artists ranging from Sonic Youth to Yoko Ono to Bjork, Zeena Parkins proves it: The classical harp is really a rock 'n' roll instrument. Forget angelic choirs; Zeena is the Jimi Hendrix of the amplified harp. With more soar, shimmer, screech, whine and wail than ever before, her album, Between the Whiles, hurls wildly into oscillating soundscapes, showcasing her artistic vision and technical versatility. The sonic scope is immense, and there's a lot to explore; dive deep, and you'll come up with some rare and eerie treasures."

Daniel Thomas Freeman - The Beauty Of Doubting Yourself
"Daniel Thomas Freeman is a founding and current member of Rameses III, the South London group who in the last ten years have released ambient / drone / folk albums on labels such as Type, Important, Digitalis and Under The Spire and who have supported such genre luminaries live as Stars Of The Lid, Current 93, Murcof, Fursaxa, James Blackshaw, Yellow Swans and Astral Social Club.
The Beauty Of Doubting Yourself is a deeply personal document from the Rameses III musician Daniel Thomas Freeman. Written over a period of six years this instrumental album is split into three movements chronologically representing the artists deep depression, his slow transition to recovery and his eventual experience of grace.
Whereas Rameses IIIs music is designed to instill beauty and peace with every release, this album is a challenging yet rewarding listen in its own right whilst keeping the luxurious depth of the later Rameses III recordings . . . . ."

- Oh boy, oh boy !
I frequently forget how great this album, as well as this band, is.
I guess I'll make a marathon of it. This is my least favorite of their albums.
