Amy Winehouse - Back to Black - got this out of morbid curiosity, but damn this is good. I had no idea. I can't listen to "wake up alone" just once- I always have to repeat it. Sad.
@ GP:
Harenstrüp sounds like a city in Denmark, but it's not.
Møn IS a place in Denmark
Wiki: "The name of the band is inspired by the beautiful island of Møn, which is one of the smaller danish islands in the Baltic Sea."
Thanks, BN. Is the title Danish? Google translate thinks Swedish and offers as the translation: "Sikfor Harenstrüp into 326 Øllegårt". How enlightening.
So, Nest: Body Pilot arrived on emusic and is $2.76. No cause for even the most momentary hesitation on that purchase....
so great. i've been following them as a singles act for the past year or so, and this album exceeds my (high) expectations. it's the kind of disc that i'd play endlessly in my dorm-room in the 80s: catchy, a little murky and mysterious, and the kind of light-goth veneer that's perfectly suited to overcast fall and winter days. yes, it's borderline pastiche, but that's not a problem for me, and it draws on more than the 80s (i'm hearing a vibe that draws from the 50s and maybe the 60s, too). feeling like this will be one of my favorite discs of 2011.
"Hespera is cellist/electronicist Bela Emersons first studio album since Kissing Nettles (2003); while Kissing Nettles comprises two long pieces, Hespera is a collection of ten self-contained shorter tracks. Inspired by the Hesperides - the nymphs of the evening light - as well as Longfellows The Wreck of the Hesperus, the album fuses chaos with beauty, darkness with harmony, passion with fragility.
These tracks, as with all Emersons music, were composed as they were performed.
Many thanks: Kris (recording), Dan (recording, mixing), Susanne (artwork), Sherry (mastering), Philippe Petit (BiP_HOp); Tommo, Kirsten, Chris, Stuart, Lianne, Nic and Ian, Stephen, Debi"
@Germanprof: Apparently, these people have names and, once upon a time, a blog. Other than some reviews of some impressive performances and album reviews, there isn't much info about the band.

Something about fall-like weather that puts me into a Sufjan state of mind.

ETA: It looks like they are based around Paris, and indeed there is some significant writing about them in French.

Seemingly gone from emusic. Not for purists, but a fine record in its own right.
First one seems to be OOP and unavailable digitally now - shame, great album and the better of the two IMHO.
Slight genre switch...alphabetical listening
