<center>Mark Ernestus' new(ish) 12", Lamb Ji, with his Ndagga Rhythm Force
locking us into some deeply-rooted complex mbalax drum-fueled futurisms. Mbene Diatta Seck on mythic space vocals.
<CENTER>You might know Lechuga Zafiro (Pablo de Vargas) from his association
with the NAAFI collective and, if so, you'll be excited about this debut EP of his, Aequs Nyama, on his own label out of Montevideo. It's a bonding of candombe
that goes back to the eighteenth century with cyborg-like electronic manipulations.
Speaking of cyborg-likeness, the Aequs Nyama is actually a biobot created by
the company that put out this release (it's in the hand below).
ETA: This Soundcloud link only part 1 of a two track album where Andreas builds up to the most gorgeous finale in "Andra Sidan"
- It's gonna take a pretty strong year of 2016 to beat this from a number one on my 2016 list.
- And this was the album that triggered the process with the new background color.
- or was it I Think Your'e Awsome ? - In any case, I'm pleased that it worked and to see you back @jonahpwll !
Just in case anyone should be interested, about 33 min. in, Jens speaks about when they are out playing gigs, he use to be very very funny (agreed by the adience).
But on this ocation it feels very awkward to tell jokes in an intimate atmosphere like this with friends and family gathered in a private house and some good friends playing his music. In fact he was so moved by the situation that it was almost more than he could handle.
