Found this in the Jazz section at my local record store, which seems wrong but I guess at least it wasn't reggae?
Really nice synth album. Sounds like what the Stranger Things soundtrack wanted to sound like, except is actually from 1986. Features Vangellis on a couple tracks. Cool.
An album of 7 tunes of cut-up cool jazz I created for live DJ performance at alternative events featuring electronic and improvised music. Free download.
Are you a fan of cool jazz?
…specifically the "west coast sound" of the 50s and 60s (Dave Brubeck, Miles Davis, Gerry Mulligan). If you know those recordings inside out, here's a way to hear anew with fresh ears…and just a little obsession. If you recognize these sounds – collaged, superimposed, decimated – then you either grew up during the 50s and 60s, or are a true fan of the period.
A good listen too. £4.62 on the old Emu in the UK. I like the music but could have lived without the baby(?) coughing. With such quality control its no wonder Noel Akchote has 206 releases on Bandcamp. (Insert smiley of choice.)
Will Thomas Long - Pathways In The Inverted Forest
When I mentioned yesterday in reply to GermanProf that I had a lot of files to sort I forgot all about some "dump" folders on my F: drive which contain hundreds of unsorted albums from back in the blogging days. I think Mr Long was mentioned here recently? This is from 2011. Here's a link. https://archive.org/details/PathwaysInTheInvertedForest
The Darkening Scale is the solo project of David Janssen aka Ted The
Loaf of Renaldo & The Loaf. A purely digital affair, DS started in
2006 when RATL was on hold. The Entomology of Sound was the first album
and came out as digital file . . .
