@Doofy glad you liked Belle Époque - I was just listening to it (and loving it) again. That stimulus combined with the current better-than-usual emusic booster sale has had me taking my collection of European accordion jazz from almost nothing (there was that one other album with Parisien and Peirani, Out of Land, in my top 20 last year) to a bunch very quickly!

The Nels Cline Four is the quartet extrapolation of Nels`duo work with guitarist Julian Lage. Adding
the rhythm section of bassist Scott Colley and drummer Tom Rainey, the
Four will endeavor to probe the inner and outer reaches of the
guitar-driven jazz quartet, playing music written by Nels as well as
some gems by Jimmy Giuffre and Attila Zoller. Eschewing Nels`propensity
for effects-laden sounds and looping in favor of unfettered tones, the
Four will interpret and improvise in a conversational, relatively
low-volume, and thoroughly modernistic manner.
Listening to a playlist where I mixed together the Grateful Dead from 1978-02-03 with Leyland Kirby’s Sadly the Future No Longer is What it Once Was.
Leads to song transitions like “And Nothing Comes Between the Sadness and the Scream” into “Loser” and “I’ve Hummed this Tune to all the Girls I’ve Known” into “Peggy-O” into “Not as she is now buy as she appears in my dreams”
Sounding a lot better listening at home right now than yesterday when a snook a listen while the boss was out. Same model pc but at home I use the sadly now defunkt logitech omnidirectional speakers.
