@peterfrederics - you might find this quite interesting. It is a sampler from a couple of years ago that introduced me to may of the artists we've been discussing. There is a quite vibrant jazz scene in South London,in particular, of young, mainly black artists with West African origins, playing a combination of jazz, hip-hop and highlife music, very much blurring the boundaries.
Did I post this before? OK, I'm posting it now. A pair of Italian jazz/electronics artists who have relocated to New Orleans and working with unexpected guest artists, so just the usual thing. It's NYOP
@greg thanks again. There is some really great music on the Brownswood Recordings label. Plus I see that it was founded by one of my favourites, Gilles Peterson.
