"Never Turn Your Back On A Friend" 1992 Hard Rock album by Welsh group, Budgie.
One of the best of the early Hard Rock/Metal bands.
Where did you get that date from Peter? It was released June 1973. I had Roger Dean in "my" shop once. He was looking at the pervy stuff on the top shelf and waiting for someone to ask "Aren't you Roger Dean?"
@djh Yes, of course it’s 1973! Funny about Roger Dean.
He was basically hanging around waiting for someone to say "Aren't you Rger Dean?" Not sure why he was in the shop, maybe waiting for a local friend. (This was S,e, London about 15-20 years ago.)
"Now That Everything's Been Said" the 1969 album by The City featuring Carole King.
One of the other band members was Danny Kortchmar who played guitar for The Fugs and for James Taylor on his "Sweet Baby James" album.
AMG says "While King went on to hit far greater heights commercially, and Tapestry is an unqualified stroke of genius, she rarely made an album as strong from beginning to end as Now That Everything's Been Said."
Still one of my favourite songs "Love is but a song we sing
Fear's the way we die You can make the mountains ring Or make the angels cry Though the bird is on the wing And you may not know why
Come on, people now Smile on your brother Everybody get together Try to love one another right now
Some may come and some may go He will surely pass When the one that left us here Returns for us at last We are but a moment's sunlight Fading in the grass
Come on, people now Smile on your brother Everybody get together Try to love one another right now
Come on, people now Smile on your brother Everybody get together Try to love one another right now
Come on, people now Smile on your brother Everybody get together Try to love one another right now
If you hear the song I sing You will understand, listen You hold the key to love and fear All in your trembling hand Just one key unlocks them both It's there at your command
Come on, people now Smile on your brother Everybody get together Try to love one another right now
Come on, people now Smile on your brother Everybody get together Try to love one another right now
I said come on, people now Smile on your brother Everybody get together Try to love one another right now Right now Right now"
Been listening to six mixes I made for driving around town in the 6-Disc player (remember CDs?). Thought I'd share one of them here if anyone's interested. Made to easily burn onto a disc.
Ps I'd also like to thank @rostasi for your mix. If you'd care to share any other of the 6 you mentioned I'd be happy to give a listen. This one certainly had a great flow to it. It was especially nice to have the titles and the song length to figure out who was playing.

You're welcome! I'll see about uploading another one today.
@rostasi - Thanks again! While I'm familiar with some there's many new folks to explore. I really appreciate the linear timing - means I don't have to do the math.

Steamhammer were one of my favourite bands back in the day.
When "Smiling Phases" was included in that mighty sampler album "Fill Your Head With Rock", I thought that they had it made but it was not to be.
So today here I am, recovering from Covid (!!) and bucking up my spirits by listening to their two best albums - "MK II" and their first s/t album.
And a funny anecdote. Two of the band members helped Rod Stewart write Maggie May!
That's a really weird almost coincidence that a couple of guys from Steamhammer helped Rod Stewart write Maggie May (and You Wear It Well) when earlier in his career Stewart had been a member of Steampacket...

I remember that track, and that album, well. I thnk I've still got the LP somewhere. Back in the day such samplers were really helpful to hear new music. Nowadays it is so much easier to listen to something new

I see they have a new album out, 50+ years on.
