Just unpacked another external hard drive and found a shed load of "world music" albums that I'd forgetten about. There's a very large sub-solder of Reggae albums some of which I'll swear I've never played. This is a pretty good roots set from 1979.
Bobby Previte and the New Bump: Set the Alarm for Monday
A new band for Bobby Previte on this one and a wonderful one at that. The percussion just bubbles away gloriously on the track, I'd advise you not to miss your train. Songs for an imaginary film noir.
Ellery Eskelin - tenor saxophone Steve Bernstein - trumpet Bill Ware - vibraphone Brad Jones - bass Jim Pugliese - percussion Bobby Previte - drums
The Keith Tippett Group: How Long This Time? Live 1970
Great to hear these previously unreleased live in the studio sessions from 1970. Half the tracks (3 of 6) were versioned on Dedicated To You…, but it's nice to hear the developmental differences - especially when you consider that the later of the two sessions was recorded on Tippett's 23rd birthday(!)
Fans of King Crimson and Soft Machine should take notice of the line-up here - and remember that the dates fall just about between ...Crimson King and Third.
Tracks 1 - 3: Keith Tippett - piano Marc Charig - cornet Nick Evans - trombone Elton Dean - alto sax, saxello Jeff Clyne - double bass, electric bass Trevor Tomkins - drums
Tracks 4 - 6: Keith Tippett - piano Mark Charig - cornet Nick Evans - trombone Elton Dean - alto sax, saxello Roy Babbington - bass Bryan Spring - drums
These sessions between the Argentinian singer-songwriter and Bill Frisell are just gorgeous.
Produced by Lee Townsend and Tucker Martine, featuring Gabriela (vocals, guitar), Bill Frisell (guitars, loops), Viktor Krauss (bass), Eyvind Kang (viola, violin), Steve Moore (keyboards) and Tucker Martine (percussion).

The Voice Of Lightness
One of his earliest albums from 1972 and very different from most of his others with more of a leaning to Prog Rock.
