On holiday in Greece and all these great new discoveries as I sit on the beach listening to music! That is whilst I am not busy exploring extraordinary ruins from the Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Venetian eras!
Today, thanks to @rostasi, it’s Day of Phoenix, Atila and Marian Varga.
Sounds great! Then what you need is some recent fusion from Athens!
Symphonic Prog doesn't always sit well with me, but I really enjoyed this. Thanks. I've lots of catching up to do with your recommendations, no bad thing!
I don't know how much of what I'm posting are actually recommendations rather than just a current audio dip into my past. For example: this first LP from Eroc brings forth beautiful memories for me of sitting in the passenger's seat of a car that had a moonroof (in 1975, having this was kind of a rarity) listening to Kleine Eva on the radio while watching shooting stars overhead.
Still, I'm happy that some folks will enjoy them and make new discoveries.
This originally came with a green foam cover. Mine is, amazingly, mostly still intact (I hope). Engineered by the (in)famous Dieter Dierks.
The UK issue on Harvest is a bit peculiar as well. Looks almost like that Cornish delight a Stargazey Pie.
I thought that I only had Only The Dancers (dancing toothbrushes on cover!) and I do on cd but it turns out that somehow I have digital copies of all the albums I think they were released as 2-on-1 cds.
I haven't played this in a long time, I'd forgotten how much i liked it!
Just back from two weeks in Sweden and Denmark. Whilst in Denmanrk I did think of Brighternow a few times. WE heard some great jazz in a couple of bars in Sockholm and another in Malmo, but didn't find any in Copenhagen
I'm having a curious experience with this. I picked it up because of the extremely low price at the link. When I focus in on particular passages I am not sure how much I like it. And I am not sure I could hum one of the melodies. But when I've played it I keep wanting to hear it again. I've played it through half a dozen times now and still feel an itch to play it again. I think that means I like it?

I always treat this thread as exactly what it says it is - what are you listening to right now.
Given the people who hang out here, if one of them is listening to something that at least suggests it's interesting.
Agreed. Every now and then, I'll post the album cover of what I'm currently listening to at that time. If I had to guess what triggers it, I would posit that I'm not only enjoying the particular album but also that I'm really enjoying the act of listening to music at that time... that the simple, sublime joy of kicking back with some good music is especially precious to me in that moment, and I want to share with others the music associated with it.
Their first album was more folky. On this one, they got rid of the vocals and moved closer to bands like Xhol or Annexus Quam with slightly more Canterbury-like leanings.

I've heard that the two best jazz clubs in Copenhagen are La Fontaine and Jazzhus Montmartre. There's another half-dozen or so, but those two are the most well-known.
Thanks! It looked interesting, but I couldn't tell what it was and there was absolutely no link. I'll check it out.
I didn't know it either, just Googled the name. I would have posted a link but I'm afraid that's beyond my abilities on a phone. Still it's one way for @Lowlife to get folk interested in the album!

Tyll - Sexphonie (1975)
Chosen at random from the bandcamp live sales feed. And kind of fun.
