Magick Brother & Mystic Sister 2020 s/t album of gentle Psychedelic/Space Rock with strong elements of Canterbury Scene. Perfect music to relax to after a hard day!
ProgArchives says "MAGICK BROTHER AND MYSTIC SISTER are a Barcelona based band who take their name from a Gong album. While they are certainly psyche spacey their main influence is probably "If I Could..." era Caravan. They trace their origin story back to 2000 when Eva (keyboards/vocals) and Xavi (bass/guitar) met Daevid Allen at a Canterbury festival where Gong, Caravan and Arthur Brown were playing. Their debut album has a very retro sixties sound heavily featuring flute and mellotron."
One of my favourite albums from the early 2000s is “Office of Strategic Influence” by OSI, a progressive rock supergroup along the lines of Transatlantic.
AMG says “OSI’s debut album is more than the sum of its disparate parts. Office of Strategic Influence masterfully blends '70s-styled progressive rock, heavily influenced by King Crimson and Pink Floyd, with an '80s-era heavy metal aesthetic, and the avant-garde sound of underground indie rockers”
Mexican band Rostro Del Sol s/t album from 2021. A great example of modern Prog/Jazz Rock with strong references to the 1960s/70s. I would try track 4 "Bop C Sketches" and (bonus track) 6 "Cynical Mind" first.
Doesn't the album cover take you back!
P.S. And I've just seen that it is NYP (with the album cover in different colours) on Bandcamp, so well worth a try!

I already had quite a few albums where O'Rourke made an appearance and with the help of the archives I found even more. Another terrific guitarist! Jim O'Rourke Some Kind Of Pagan archive.org Tamper archive.org Disengage archive.org
This is a box set of several early albums by 36 (50 tracks), and it is temporarily (until Christmas day) free/NYOP on bandcamp. I went for it basically expecting a generous quantity of acceptable ambient music for cheap, but I am enjoying it much more than I expected. I recommend it.
^^^ Well, even though I'm usually in bed by 9PM, I like 24 Hour Party People the best so far and Gene, Burt & Hal next. My only other offering would be Every 24 Hours by Peter Case. Back to Jim... Jim O'Rourke
Chopin’s 24 Preludes Four and twenty blackbirds (baked in a pie) 24 frames per second (the rate at which film is projected) 24 real mature now (line from a song by Tdkzw)
24 carat purple is a good one. and the Tulsa one is actually tempting.

Yes, why didn’t I think of Purple? So much better!

Seeing as all our album posts are inevitably 24 Carat Gold selections! Or not!?
Carat or Karat? Apparently you can use both spellings in the case of gold.
