Oh man, don't get me started on SAML. I mean, there you are trying to solve the Web Browser Single Sign-On (SSO) problem. Sure, that's also addressed by the OpenID protocol. And single sign-on solutions are like crazy abundant at the intranet level...like say, you could use cookies. But extending these solutions beyond the intranet has been hella problematic. And then you get all non-interoperable proprietary technologies and sh*t. P*sses me off.
Decided to go the whole hog and get the limited edition CD in hand-printed envelope of hand-made organic mulberry paper in a hand-made hessian bag. Arrived this morning. Sounds very nice too. (On a quick folder count I make this around my 30th Offthesky album)
Track A/Track B by Quinn Walker and Danny Clay
Nice.
Happy that Bruce Cockburn and Vieux Farka Toure are both playing shows right in my neighborhood (in fact within walking distance) in the coming months. (Gillian Welch too, though I haven't listened to that new album folk have been linking here to see if I like it). And the Vieux Farka Toure show is free!!
"empusae is a project created by sal-ocin who is also a member of various other projects such as this morn' omina, tzolk'in, project arctic and also works as a live member of ah cama-sotz and in slaughter natives. sal-ocin is always open-minded about working together with other artists, as can be heard on this album: a liaison with manabu hiramoto a.k.a. shinkiro from osaka, japan who collaborated with artists like contagious orgasm, hybryds and jack or jive, and who has also made releases under the name kotodama. organic.aural.ornaments is based mostly on track-sources from manabu supplemented by sal-ocin. both artists' aural characteristics merge perfectly: shinkiro's cinematic dark soundscapes with a meditative touch blend with empusae's haunting ritualistic ambience and enthralling melodies. varied rhythmic structures ranging from tribal to minimalistic sequences loom out of the vast, lamenting synth sounds - a kaleidoscope of ethereal atmospheres, both enthralling and enchanting. in sal-ocin's words, the term 'organic' fits perfectly concerning the result of this collaborative work. two artistic minds fused into one, creating a movie without visuals or dialogue. organic.aural.ornaments is waiting for you to step through the frame and into an imagined world, and we highly recommend taking the chance."

@BT - sorry memory goes with age!! You are right, the suggestion came from someone at the other place. I will however follow up your suggestions from the Baroque thread
One of several weekend used purchases from a charity shop
Chris Schlarb - Psychic Temple - (Asthmatic Kitty Records 2010)
- Bandcamp.
"An astounding work of passion and patience over one thousand hours in the making, Long Beach musician/composer Chris Schlarb bestows his latest musical vision, Psychic Temple, onto the world. Known for his work as half of the hypnotic, jazz/drone duo, I Heart Lung, Schlarb's latest work expands wildly in new directions, incorporating wordless vocal choirs, string quartets and horn sections into his 29-member ensemble.
Inspired by the rhythmic pulse of microhouse, and the melodic vocabulary of jazz and folk music, Psychic Temple is a deeply considered meditation on beauty. Recording began in January of 2009 and over the next nineteen months Schlarb collaborated with twenty-eight musicians (including four bassists, three drummers and six vocalists) to build Psychic Temple.
It would not be an exaggeration to boast that Psychic Temple contains performances from some of today's finest musicians including Mick Rossi of the Philip Glass Ensemble, legendary Minutemen bassist Mike Watt, vocalists Julianna Barwick, DM Stith, Joel St. Julien (of ELLUL), Aaron Roche, trumpeter Kris Tiner, Brian Blade Fellowship pedal steel guitarist Dave Easley, Weird Weeds percussionist Nick Hennies, guitarist Danny Miller and drummer Tabor Allen (of Rare Grooves and The Widow Babies), bassists Steuart Liebig, C.J. Boyd and Anthony Shadduck, and Danny T. Levin and David Moyer on horns."
