  • I noticed Yeezus for $1.99 as well. Unfortunately since then I have been wishing I could unhear the samples.
  • The Arcade Fire album is also a good deal at $3.99; I already hab it.
  • GP - You best check yo'self!

  • iTunes has some releases from this year on a slight sale at $7.99 or less, like San Fermin's S/T.
  • Thanks GP, streaming that album on Spotify. $3.99 seems like a steal for it.

Bob Dylan albums are $5.99 and up today. Going for the basement tapes myself. Also includes $1 Mp3 credit.

Also, if you do facebook, you can get $5 off a $35 purchase. Luckly you can only share this with yourself if you have your facebook account set appropriately.

  • I like a little Impromptu in A-Flat Major for breakfast.
  • What if I wake up with a hang-over?
  • No, no it can't. Give me those flapjacks!
  • He actually served pancakes at the Paisley Park pajama party a couple months back. (Of course that photo is Dave Chapelle as Prince, though.)

Nutty. Bach Guild Christmas Box for 0.99, 280 tracks. A reviewer has posted Complete track info
  • edited December 2013
Don't ask me why I ended up reading the reviews on the Bach Guild Christmas Box - end of a long day. But my favorite negative review:
No known songs or artists on this.
There are quite a lot of 1 star reviewers who are clearly disappointed that they did not get Jingle Bells and Rudolph.

Nutty. Bach Guild Christmas Box for 0.99, 280 tracks
£13.59 in the UK! Still not bad value, though, but I won't download, I would have done at 99p
  • I bought the big Christmas box last year, not something that I listen to more that the week of Christmas. I think I put it on random in the background for the festivities. Forgot I owned it until Amazon reminded me.
  • The Big Christmas Box is the perfect album for Amazon Cloud Player via Roku onto the TV - it's on in the living room, you don't really need it blasting through the stereo, it's not taking up space in my computer, I don't have to retrieve it from the hard drive, and it's right there the couple of weeks a year you need it - far out.
  • BDB, that applies x1000 to any streaming service** you prefer (that Box is on Rdio, along with umpteen hundred other xmas albums if you like). I only mention this because I'm constantly surprised when I see statements that imply not everyone here keeps a cheap streaming service on hand. Strikes me as analogous to not having a microwave or toaster oven to facilitate quick (re)heating in the kitchen (or maybe a dishwasher).

**unless that's not true, that the Roku would offer such access? Is there something special about the ACP?
  • @kargatron, I'll have to take a look at the Roku channel store - ACP is one they carry, and we use Amazon Prime for video also, but I'm not sure what else they have available. I have never used a streaming service because I just don't spend enough time actually at the computer - I listen mostly to stereo (in other room) or iPod dock, and I can't stream at work. I like the microwave analogy - you never know how useful it can be until you have one.

Cross-posted, just making sure no one misses this, seems like a great deal to me:

From the Wire archival releases list: African Songbird by Sathima Bea Benjamin & Dollar Brand
"Beautiful deep vocal jazz side feat Dollar Brand lavishly and lovingly reissued by the sainted Matsuli label." - Kristina Records
"One of the coolest albums ever from vocalist Sathima Bea Benjamin" - Dusty Groove
    $2.97 at Amazon US.
    Great stuff, recommended.
  • For anyone this side of the Atlantic, emusic has African Songbird, and as it is only 3 tracks long, it costs £1.26.
  • Here are a couple of decent albums cheap on Amazon: Painkiller - The Prophecy, three tracks for $2.97, track two is over an hour for 99 cents. John Zorn - On the Torment of Saints, the Casting of Spells and the Evocation of Spirits, $4.97, although this one is a bit short (less that 40 minutes total)
  • Ultra-Rare OOP Holy Grail mp3s
  • Those are the rare alternative cover mp3's. Collectors buy them and keep them in Mylar bags with backing boards, never actually listening to them so their re-sale value stays high. Might even be signed by the original artists.

Seems to be a lot of $5 albums going on here - I don't get too excited for $5 albums but maybe there's something you like.
Lots of the usual suspects. Might pick up this year's Tedeschi-Trucks release. Of course only if I don't buy She and Him 3 first.
