So... i from the liner notes of of the Sick of It All album that I just posted I saw that it was recorded in someplace called Garden City, NJ...   that reminded me that I had a Discharge album/concert recording from that same location (pretty disappointing recording/album as I recall) anyway.... scanning my physical CD collection I pulled this out to play.....(just like I pulled the Sick of it All album after re-slotting the Lene Lovich disc back into place - random-eye-contact).

... wow...  "I won't subscribe to a System that has it's hands around my throat!"

Yeah.. this album makes most of everything else in my collection (in a somewhat similar vein) seem weak by comparison.. I'm looking at you Black Flag, DRI, MDC (maybe not so much), Crass, Slapshot, TAD, Subhumans, Angry Samoans, Corrosion of Conformity, Discharge....wait...did i Just do that?)

PS: "Free Speech for the Dumb!"

ETA:  Hey help me out.... What other groups out there approximate Clock DVA's sound/music?  I really like it but none of my forays into this genre have yielded much that I can mentally latch onto like this particular album (ie: Front242, Front Line Assembly, etc???)
  • John Lennon - Imagine
  • Marconi Union- Weightless

    Ahhh ! - that's much better . . .
    - Leftfield is back as brilliant as they ever have been !

Ok, I shouldn't have had to read that album title so many times before I got the reference.

    African Sound album cover

Great stuff bought it (fairly cheaply) directly from Jazzman on CD and found the Emu version a day later. S. African Ellingtonia just before the Blue Notes went into exile. So seconded by me.

  • Hakobune - love knows where
  • Earlier Beatles Magical Mystery Tour, followed by Van Morrison Duets. Now playing Van Morrison Healing Game.

  • releases February 1, 2016
  • The Stooges - Fun House

I just realized or re-realized that this came out before Raw Power. That seems like a de-evolution to me.
  • Larry Levan - Paradise Garage 1979
  • Van Morrison - The Healing Game
  • Listening to the phenomenal Q2 album of the week.
    The Debrecen Passion
  • Joshua Abrams Magnetoception

As discussed yesterday on the YouTube thread.  Compared to the pricey vinyl, a relative bargain at eMusic.

Josh Abrams guimbri, bass, celeste, clarinet, small harp, bells
Hamid Drake frame drum, tabla, conga, trap kit
    Emmett Kelly electric guitar
    Jeff Parker electric guitar
    Lisa Alvarado harmonium
    Ben Boye chromatic electric autoharp
