Jason Moran, Ten And a bunch of other things - Just got home from Amsterdam, 16 hour trip and music all the way (avoided the movies and got a bunch of writing done on the long flight, while plowing through jazz and baroque).
Inspired by Luddite playing Sick Of It All the other day; I remembered I had this from Amie St. 89! I didn't listen to this back then but I remember some of the cool kids had t-shirts in high school. I even knew some kids in their own hardcore band; it was in this vein. I dubbed a DRI tape from one of them...
I found and downloaded a 30 second long silent track which I stuck between all the separate pieces in this album; makes it much easier to listen to, but less work than re-tagging everything.
Birch & Meadow - Bring Back the Sun Really nice one from the end of 2015 that I missed. Dark electronic textures/drones and pensive female vocal. One you might like, BN.
Listening to the YMO mix again. I'd heard some ambient things by Ryuichi Sakamoto before but never really listened to Yellow Magic Orchestra before; really enjoying this.
Asperities by Julia Kent, via BandCamp. "Utilising looped cello, electronics and found sounds, Kent creates a world where the technological and the organic merge in perfect symbiosis, the layers of sound peeling back to reveal a beating, bloody human heart at its centre."
