An excerpt from The One Ensemble's new album 'Saint Seven'. A
through-composed 40 minute piece of post-punk orchestral folk, featuring
accordions, bass clarinets, cello, percussion, guitar and voices.
@djh, back in May I was in Finnsnes, in the north of Norway, and was driving through one of those tunnels with colleagues, quite a long one, and half way through the tunnel, a looong way from daylight, we met an otter running up the road in the other direction.
Need cheering up this morning, so no dark tunnels right now:
Considering getting this on emusic, but am tempted by the fact that the 7-disk CD set is $10 more on Amazon. Hmmm. Nice music. Better than the other cheap Brilliant Classics guitar sets I sampled on spotify this afternoon.
“Never, just as you wanted” is the first track off the eagerly awaited
forthcoming Benoît Pioulard studio album. ‘Slow spark, soft spoke’ will
be released on November 17th on limited edition tape and digital via
Dauw.
I spent over 13 hours flying yesterday (nothing to GP though) - Tokyo to London via Helsinki (where there was quite a lot of snow!) My listening included the 3 CD version of David Bowie's Nothing has Changed, a Joe Bonamssa double CD accoustic live album, the Beatles White album, the SF Jazz Stevie Wonder set, and Van Morrison at the Movies.
Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement or Dominick Fernow if you will. I believe in the real world this is a brick sized vhs style box containing eight cassettes which is all (?) of his music under this name from 20011-2013. That's around four and a half hours of dark ambient thrills (not actually very ambient in the Eno sense but not the thumping techno of his Vatican Shadow alias).

Also from the emu bargains thread, a very fun album.
Just edged out by this one. But what about the music you ask? It's all good!
