Good new one this year. It's at eMusic, I think. I wonder what to make of the title, given that probably his best-known work, from 45 years ago, is "Illusion Suite." Guardian review
(I still think their full-length "Would You Rather Be Followed By Forty Ducks For the Rest of Your Life?" had one of the best post-rock album titles in a crowded field.)
Once again a great shame to be playing it under the circumstances. This is one of eight albums in The Complete Black Saint / Soul Note box set. The album name is a bit of a put off for me but the music it contains is superior "Black Classical" art music and no mistake. RIP Muhal Richard Abrams 1930 - 2017.
And on another tip - and I have no idea who to thank for putting me onto this one - are you ready for some Sami fusion?
This could so easily slide into fuzak nonsense but it's mixture of jazz-rock; lots of percussion and Sami traditional music retains enough grit for me despite the slick studio production.

I like it. The hip-hop crossover is a bit self-conscious, to my old jazz ears
I preordered, so I only have two tracks so far. Moving on to Art Ensemble Of Chicago, Tutankhamun then maybe some Albert Ayler.

From the eMU bargain thread. Excellent quiet music.

Warning - contains auto-tune madness.
Been really getting into the Souljazz Orchestra - maybe not truly "bargain priced", but I think this was 449 US, so less than most albums on the site
