Since this is the fifth of May, I'm listening to Dylan's Isis. I have hree different versions on my iPod, the live version from the 1975 Bootleg series is smoking.
Thom - LCD Soundsystem is seriously hit or miss, so I understand why you are torn on them (him). I seriously do not care for the new single "Drunk Girls" at all.
I was torn about whether to snag this one or the new The Hold Steady yesterday (one needs to wait until refresh next week). I think I made the right call. This album is really, really good.
Steve Blanco and Jeremy Wilms - Semblance - a wonderful guitar and piano duet album that is still free on Amie Street - one of my best finds there of late.
Selfrisinmojo, I LOVE Treat Her Right. I like the first two albums better than What's Good For You, but I think those are out of print. Anyway, great stuff.
Right now I'm listening to the new New Pornographers. So far so good.

@ muggsy-yeh, Treat Her Right is great. I have the anthology which is going for approx 90.00 on amazon!? @anybody-what exactly does out of print mean nowadays? if the source is digital.....
20 years ago Cds were about 1.20 a piece to manufacture.
@hoosfoos, !!!! Thanks for the rec! Just got it and the family and I are listening to it over french toast and coffee. It sounds a like a project between Pistolera, Calexico, and Scott Reynolds, with Squirrel Nut Zippers sitting in now and then. So good!
@elwoodicious - I really wanted to get that Bei Bei & Shawn Lee collab when it was on sale on eMu, but then it went back to regular price and I didn't have the credits. Should get it next time.
Trying to decide if it's worth the 5 bucks on 7digital. The samples had me saying no, but now that I've got it streaming on Grooveshark I'm leaning towards yes.
Comments
It made me dig this one up from my eMu vault:
Pomegranate by Steuart Liebig
- Wonderful stuff !
Federico Crespo - EP1
Nothing mind blowing, but I'm really digging this rather chill, house EP. Still under a buck and worth it.
Orquestas De Cuerdas -- an excellent collection of Mexican-American music from the archives.
Broken Social Scene - Forgiveness Rock Record

Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, Max Roach - Money Jungle
So very good.
I've been on a Zorn kick lately, especially the Masada String Trio material.
Group Doueh - Guitar Music from the Western Sahara
Right now I'm listening to the new New Pornographers. So far so good.
Pistolera -- En Este Camino (currently $2.64)
If you truly believe that, you've officially lost it.

Ska Down Jamaica
Perfect way to wind down a beautiful afternoon.
Got Stereo Total's Baby Ouh! early Tuesday morning. I rather like it--a touch of Plastic Bertrand, a touch of Momus, a touch of Le Tigre.

giving this a spin:
Larval-Predator or Prey
5 of the 9 songs add the much needed stones and scatter missing from most prog rock.
DePedro
It's led by a guitarist who plays with Calexico. I learned about it from Kez. Currently $2.57 on Amie.
P.S. Geez, first time adding an image. What a pain since adding =WxH to img tag doesn't work.
Bibi Tanga & The Selenites
For $0.75 it can't be beat!
West Coast by Studio
Blissed out summer music...just what I need on a Friday.
Recc'd by someone a while ago...A really nice piano jazz album available on Amie for all of $1.67
Into The Wind by Bei Bei & Shawn Lee
Bei Bei was rec'd by Brittleblood somewhere, sometime so I had picked up her solo album and really enjoyed it. This collaboration is sublime.
Greezy Wheel-String Theory
i loved this band in the 70s.
here is an updated version of their fiddle winged, bluesy western swing
currently free on amie
Prism Quartet and Music of China, Antiphony: a wonderful collaboration of a sax ensemble with Chinese musicians.
Cosmogramma by Flying Lotus
Trying to decide if it's worth the 5 bucks on 7digital. The samples had me saying no, but now that I've got it streaming on Grooveshark I'm leaning towards yes.
Per Norgaard's Der göttliche Tivoli
I'll need a few more listens to fully digest it.
Thomas Chapin-Menagerie Dreams
old album, new to me.
sad story.
great music,John Zorn on a couple of tunes, 71 minutes-9tracks
Heartland by Owen Pallett
Like Sufjan Stevens and a foot fungus this album has really grown on me. One of my favs of this year.
There's Love In You by Four Tet
I've got to say the transition between Pallett and Four Tet is chocolate and peanut butter.
