Oh, I forgot all about The Vultures! They came up on iTunes this morning...They are awful and that's what I like about them. I nominate this girl singer as most likely to develop a case of screamer's nodes.
this morning it sounds like Johnnies Dowd and Cash exchanging black and white photos of themselves while Hawkwind provides the appropriate fuzz, bass and strange.
I just picked up some of the tracks from this over at Guvera. I had dismissed this album at the height of my Roxy/Crismo obsession, thinking it would be more like K-Scope than Diamond Head or 801 Live. However, this is more than Manzanera's deft playing and textural genius. Bill MacCormick, veteran of so many prog outings, really shines.

Well worth the cost of a shiny plastic disc (plus there's a bonus DVD I haven't watched yet). Seriously an awesome album (words like lush and shimmery come to mind). I could probably leave it on repeat all day and be happy.
A very good album, but I'm not sure I like it as much as the Ayrton Senna EP. They seem to have gotten away a bit from the dance side and there is a STRONG Merriweather Post Pavilion sound to a lot of it. While I like MPP a lot, the similarity here is so unmistakable that it starts to feel a bit derivative.
Triggered of by the Alvin Curran track on the Seth Josel LP I posted yesterday, I found this one on eMu:
Crystal Psalms by Alvin Curran
AC has squeezed in some warped bits and pieces from what I believe is a Wagner piece.
(Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg ?)
- Excellent earcandy for artbears !
Btw. I have gathered everything I could find by AC on a Alvin Curran list.
Comments
Listening to Buddy Terry - Pure Dynamite !
- Such a befitting album title.
Concrete Jungle by Nneka

Lots & Lots of Trucks - with my 3 yr. old.
Birth
exotic ideas in heavy boots slowly unfolding into a dance of busy grins
Looking forward to checking out Birth.
The Cobra Movement
this morning it sounds like Johnnies Dowd and Cash exchanging black and white photos of themselves while Hawkwind provides the appropriate fuzz, bass and strange.
Alice Shields: Apocalypse, An Electronic Opera
Charles Mingus - the Clown - from my very well priced Mingus box-set.
'64-'95 by Lemon Jelly
Definitely my favorite album of theirs and how I wish they'd release another album.
- Thanks again luddite ! - That track 2 is a hit.
Dominick Argento: Postcard from Morocco (2 Cds)

Judy Sucks A Lemon For Breakfast by Cornershop
This album takes me back to when all I pretty much had was a tank of gas, a used map, and time. That's a good thing.
Mojo Perry
i think these are still free...get all 20 of 'em
guitar rock, blues rock, psychedelic blues guitar rock....it's good and Mojo's a cool dude
Arms and Sleepers - Black Paris 86
Trying to work through my Amie SFL via Lala. I think these guys came up when I did a Flevans or Nostalgia 77 station on Last.fm. Very chill downtempo.
Tirbute to Blue Cheer
big, dumb and heavy tributes to the forefathers of big, dumb and heavy......I love all 78 big, dumb and heavy minutes of it.
The Stroke That Kills by Seth Josel

Bobby Previte - Pan Atlantic - still cheap at amie.
Beach House - Teen Dream
Well worth the cost of a shiny plastic disc (plus there's a bonus DVD I haven't watched yet). Seriously an awesome album (words like lush and shimmery come to mind). I could probably leave it on repeat all day and be happy.
Delorean - Subiza

I have got the new Bobby Previte saved up for a long drive tomorrow.
Same here, I actually got it for free last year but did'nt dl. before today.
Btw: I bought the other S.J from NWCRI - apart from a few tracks its a bit to plinketiplonk 'ish for my taste. (from 1. listen)
