I'll second (or third) that Ilhan Ersahin REC. One of my lucky freebies yesterday - saw that it was on the Nublu label and decided to grab it without a listen.
I was there a few seconds too late to get it free but spent money on it on complete impulse. Very glad to hear good things about it. Will be queuing it up soon.
I've always liked this album, but I think it and the group suffered a little bit coming out close to Vampire Weekend and sounding at times just like them. I also think the best songs on this album are towards the end, so it's easy to want to move on to a different album, but worth staying around for the whole thing. I also just read on Stereogum that they're recording a new album.
Antenne is Kim G. Hansen and Marie-Louise Munck.
Copenhagens Kim G. Hansen formerly recorded as half of the Danish industrial duo, Institute for the Criminally Insane. He was also one of the founding members of Danish experimental noise-rock band Grind, who later became Amstrong - a project focused on trip-hop aesthetics but still influenced by the origins of the band. After Amstrongs first album, Sprinkler, in 1999 Kim left the band to form a solo project - Antenne. The female vocalist of Amstrong, marie-louise munck, also participates at the project as vocalist on most of the songs. She has recently completed her first solo album.
Thanks for all the recs on this artist, it was one that would have slipped by me but is much to good to pass up. Listening to all three albums this morning.
Edit:
Hey Elwood...
Youre most welcome. I would probably also have missed them if they weren't Danish and I already knew them.
- I actually ended up with most of the Helmet Room catalogue and the In Gowan Ring seems very nice.
it's 14 years old and most of the songs are at least twice that; but if you like your rock and roll to kick and spit, this gem more than delivers a well booted foot.

@ Brighternow: consider it a compliment....no one appreciates craftsmanship anymore; even the big boys are buying from cheap, outsourced suppliers.
Fast n Bulbous
by no means a substitute for the originals, more of a celebration of their existence
For those who may need their Souls Stirred this fine Easter morning.
The Fear Is Excruciating, But Therein Lies The Answer by Red Sparowes

Damian Valles Bow Echoes
Leigh Stephens Red Weather
40+ years later, it still sounds like the California sun peeling back the fog for its first peek at the day.... warts and all.
Aura - A Different View from the Same Side
- Pleases my inner headbanger ;-)
Blame Brighternow...
I've got the perfect antidote for you:

Burning Season by Faith and the Muse ... or at least I would be, if Amie would get off its ass and fix the Metropolis drop.
Everybody knows People Who Died, but I forgot how much I like the rest of this album.
