Cowboy Junkie's new one - Renmin Park. $4 on Amazon's deal of the day. Sounds great, a sort of husky, sleepy sort of vocals and music perfected by the CJ's.
Oskar Hallbert is a Swedish composer who makes minimal music; tranquil melodies, documentary field recordings and the warm hiss you get from old microphones, casette tapes and an out of date mp3-player. You might know him from his former online releases on Zymogen or Rain Music. He has also released physical albums on small underground lables around the world, most recent on U.K. based Heat death.
The EP "doodling" consists of 5 tracks and is 12 minutes and 12 seconds long. All songs are like little folk-miniatures for instance containing simple guitar-figures, a toy keyboard and field recordings. The feeling of the EP reminds me of old photographs found in the attic, with buckled corners, covered with dust, and with faded colouration. They are like pieces of frozen time, they tell a fraction of a story
Matt Bauder is a saxophonist and composer who has studied with Ed Sarath, Anthony Braxton, Ron Kuivila and Alvin Lucier. He has been an active member of the new music scenes in Ann Arbor, Chicago and New York, where he has performed with, among others, Braxton, Andrew D'Angelo, Jeff Parker, Chad Taylor, Jim Baker, Ken Vandermark and Phil Minton. He appears on recordings with Jason Ajemian (Locust Music), Warn Defever (Perforate My Heart), Neil Michael Hagerty (Drag City), His Name is Alive (4AD/Time Stereo), Saturday Looks Good to Me (Polyvinyl) and Bill Brovald (Tzadik). - 482 Music
It's awfully convenient that the first track has twelve seconds of audience applause and silence, enough to carry it over the 10 minute mark. I'm pissed that the label would manipulate us that way.

in cashing out i grabbed goldmund - the malady of elegance.
if there's a tim mason somewhere out there in this universe, he should explore it.
funny - I just cancelled my emusic account. I figure if I cancel instead of hold I might get some sort of bonus.
Glad I grabbed this before the Amazon deal expired. I dig the aggression and disparity.
Wild Beasts - Two Dancers
I love this album so much.

Just bought it. Never heard their music, only their praises. Hallogallo sounds exactly what I need for the train ride into NYC on Friday.
I always enjoy this album when I play it, but always wish Christian didn't spend so much time calling out the players.
Taking a break from the Krautrock marathon to lose myself in some honeyed female vocals.
I watched 30 Century Man recently and so have been on a real Scott Walker kick. Highly recommend the movie.
Frazey Ford - Obadiah. Excellent sleepy version of One More Cup of Coffee.
I'm obsessed with his work, number 5 on my Last.fm artists.
I'm pwnd, wish I'd gotten that

Yeah, me too. I wasn't that excited when I first heard the 2 tracks released a few weeks back, but this album is really growing on me.
Great listen whilst performing some light programming.
