Dream Dome by Walter Sickert and the Army of Broken Toys
This was there entry in the RPM Challenge: to write and record an album of material in the month of February. Self-described Steampunk, this band deals in the carnivalesque. $1
Welcome to emusers, Jason - our latest member! I'll start a Jason Parker thread, so looking forward to hearing from you, particluarly about your new Nick Drake project
(I'm listening to a RODO (Record of Dubious Origin): a concert of Doc and Sam Bush from 2001. Anyone who wants to here a little of his excellent folk-country-blues picking, check out Deep River Blues on YouTube.)
Dying for Bad Music has pushed this one hard. Admittedly, it's quite good. I guess I'd call it chamber folk--somewhere between chamber pop and freak folk. Love the second track's use of piano strings to set the beat. Free.
This just arrived in the mail today! Bought it off of eBay real cheap (comparatively) a couple weeks ago from someone located in China. Not a bootleg or slipshod copy but the real deal. I picked up the double combo album "Don't Stop The World"/"Second Honeymoon" back in the mid 80's (Disc 1 of this anthology). To reference another thread I bought the vinyl back then simply because it looked interesting and boy was it ever... wasn't really like anything I was listening to at the time but I ended up loving it. Still do. Fantastic set of songs.
If you're unfamiliar with them (and I wouldn't blame you if you were), I dug up some youtube links to some of the songs on the first disc:
Dustland by The Gentleman Losers
I've been streaming several tracks from this on loop for the last hour from the artist site and am thoroughly hooked. Absolutely going to buy the album. Never heard of these guys before, very happy to have found this (via their bandcamp EP). Reminds me a little of Charles Atlas in overall feel. Less ambient than the EP - gently melodic, warm and wistful.

- A magical mystery tour through Mr. Liles musical universe !
Since emu stole the album away, I tried out the ep's. On first scan I'm not seeing me spending money for this.
Beginning to really like this - I'll have to find some more DoF to download!
Two Mountains by Eskimaux. Nice bedroom recordings. Touches of mid-period Cocteau Twins. Free.

One of my favorite finds on Amie Street.
