Decided to keep rolling with nostalgic tribute albums. Interesting to see that neither this album nor the Saturday Morning Cartoon one upstream are available in mp3 on Amazon. Folks don't know what they're missing!
@craig, I pretty much raised my daughter on this video. And it didn't even need a rock and roll tribute, as it was recorded by an actual rock and roll group, (OK, doo-wop): The Tokens, famous for "The Lion Sleeps Tonight."
And then of course jazz trumpeter/singer/comedian Jack Sheldon is the voice on many of the most famous Schoolhouse Rock songs, including "I'm Just a Bill," but that's enough SHR trivia/nerdage for today....
Doofy - The SHR stuff certainly didn't need a rock tribute, but it doesn't hurt either! Hearing early Moby is particularly interesting. He really was a bit of a rocker before he got into the Play era.
So good. Gone from eMu, apparently, glad I got it when I did. Surprised to see (some) Amazon reviews compare it to Bitches Brew, I don't really hear that at all. (Aside from being long-form, trumpet-led jazz from the 70s.)
The Transitions by Color by Numbers
Jason Corder side project. More non-electronic instruments than his offthesky stuff - DoF lovers might like this. Very nice. Free at the archive. Will add to free stuff thread.
Persona by Mokira
One of those albums that I periodically try to like (perhaps positively biased by the nice artwork), with mixed success. Some good moments, but right now it feels a little sterile.
@Dr. Mutex: You're welcome. I'm still too conflicted about the album. The music tend to be cutesy and lacks variety. However, there are some undeniably classic songs.
In case you are wonderting this is the UK based Charlatans
To coincide with Tim and Mark's acoustic tour the band are releasing an EP of six stripped-down and reworked versions of Charlatans classics including; North Country Boy, The Only One I Know and Smash The System from their current album. Both sophisticated and refined, the band has found inspiration in folky Byrds-esque harmonies and Johnny Cash style rockabilly.

I forgot how great The Violent Femmes version of "Eep Opp Ork Ah-Ah" from The Jetsons is.

Moved on to this without realising!
This is so old I can't remember when I last played it!

I had a good trip to the local used record store this weekend.

Something gentle for 6.45 in the morning!
Downloaded from my SFL on that day before all the indie majors went - still haven't played all the tracks yet. I really ought to buy 21....

It is rainy and dreary today, so I am spending most of the day in my ambient directory. Starting here with Monostation Alchemy Number 8: Magnesium.
