  • Amazon March albums. Some good things, of course, plus the usual suspects. Almost relieved to see nothing that made $5 jump out of my wallet.
  • @Doofy: I kind of feel that way too, though I am tempted at Esmeralda Spalding's Junjo and maybe Warpaint's The Fool.

Today's deal is the new Devotchka album for $3.99.
  • New Dropkick Murphys today, an Amazon $5 deal. Also streaming at Spinner. It sounds pretty much like other DM albums, but that's a good thing.
  • I grabbed that Warpaint album a few days ago. I really like it. It's streaming on the webpage, if you want to give it a try. "Undertow" is a stunner.

Glasser is still just $2.99 - one of the best albums from 2010.

And today we have the third Black Angels album, which I can't remember if I own... d'oh!

  • Old 97's today -The Grand Theatre Volume 1 for $3.99. Glad I procrastinated when it was up as a $5 album.
  • FREE! FREE! FREE!

25 track Winter 2011 sampler from Relapse Records... Time for some Headbangin'!!!!!

  • That link doesn't work for me, froggy. However, I persevered, and got it through google & a facebook link.
  • Joe Bonnamassa [sp?] $2.99 today
  • Was kinda hoping J. Mascis would be a daily deal, but isn't looking good.

Today - 10 Classic Albums for $3.99, or Deal of the Day was something by the Decembrists - sorry, aging neurons forgot the title already.
The 5PM Eastern Lightning Deal will be the Black Box - 8 Ozzy era Sabbath CDs, one DVD, regularly priced at $72.15. The price is going to have to be much more fetching for me to bite the bathead on this one.

Edit- it's interesting that as of 2PM Eastern these 10 albums are the Top 10 on the MP3 Album Chart there, and the order they are in. I might even get me Pet Sounds finally later.
  • Bit the bathead - the aforementioned Sabbath Black Box is a $34.99 Lightning Deal right now at 5PM Eastern.
  • Wow, talk about the bat's bollocks - order it Friday and Monday afternoon the Black Box is in my hot little hands at my desk here - and I've got all week to torment my co-workers before I take it home and hide it from the wife. Life is good.

    $3.99 today! Well worth it.

Still just $3.99 from last week or something. Hurry up if you don't have this yet.

For some reason $3.99 - just in case you're really behind the times and feeling angst-y!
  • Not a Daily Special, but the new Mountain Goats All Enternals Deck is $5 right now.
  • Not a Daily Special either but this may be of interest to some here: Brian Eno - Neroli. 1 Track (57:56 minutes) for $0.99
  • Destroyer
  • That is a great album; wasn't it already on sale? It wasn't that cheap though.
  • It was either $4 or $5 before and I debated too long. For 3 bucks I definitely think it's worth it. Link

Looks like today's 1PM Eastern Lightning Deal will be the 10 CD Zeppelin box.
EDIT - $69.99. Not really, as I'm still holding on to the venerable vinyl, as well as having the 6 CD Remasters. If they'd gone $49.99 I would have probably hit it.

Today's MP3 is Foo Fighters Greatest Hits $3.99.
  • Zep Box Part II - Doh! Upon slightly longer consideration - maybe 3 minutes - I went ahead and bought it. It's only one of my favorite bands, and it's $7 a CD, what was I thinking? If I'd seen a deal like that back when Tower Records was around I would have jumped on it. Not the best time in the world to part with $70 but since I like listening in the original album order what the hell. Since by 2PM 98% of them were gone I guess I'm not alone in this.
  • R.E.M. - Collapse Into Now

I knew if I waited I'd get it for a better price than what I'd been seeing.

  • The newish North Mississippi Allstars album Keys to the Kingdom is $5 this month.
  • I'll probably get the new Ha Ha Tonka for $2.99 because I want an album to get my "cloud upgrade" and the Bloodshot Records offices (storefront) are right around the corner from my house! Oh yes, and I also like the band. :)
  • Btw, swindlee, didn't realize the 20G free upgrade went away after a year. I suppose next you're going to tell me I should've read the fine print. I would be swell if all old Amazon purchases got backed up to the cloud, wouldn't it?
  • $3.99 Today's Special is the new Robbie Robertson whose name escapes me - which really is bad considering I bought it this morning (at home, at least).
  • @BDB - "new Robbie Robertson whose name escapes me"

i knew you were going to say that. It is "How To Become Clairvoyant" and the album is very nice indeed on the first listen.
  • That Robertson album is still up on NPR First Listen...

I had forgotten how much I hate his music.

That is just too brainf**ked for words. I need to go back to Clairvoyance 101.
