emu's got my leaning back toward trying it again. It's only $.99. I've spent more than that for things I didn't end up liking. In the end it will come down to whether I remember to turn on my computer tonight or not. Most nights I don't - but there are those guvera credits...

"Engineers in the last chapter talk about mastering CDs to sound good in a car"
Back when I was a kid I loved Chuck Berry's music, and on occasion still do. I remember reading several years ago that his recordings, and others I'm sure, were produced to sound good on the cheap car radio speakers of the day. What goes around comes around. I may be old but I am grateful I had Chuck etc. to listen to as opposed to Lady Gaga.
Agreed Mr V. Lady G was over here recently and I heard some of her 'music' on the television one morning. Had to turn it down, as I didn't like it at all. It did however remind me of my grandparents' reactions when they heard the Rolling Stones nearly 50 years ago. Maybe reactions to sounds, including music, chage with age?
Granted 30 second previews are rarely fair, but they certainly did nothing to endear me to Ms. Gaga. There's maybe one track that even remotely interested me, but it mostly sounded like a re-hash of Kylie. And since her covers are far more pleasing to look at I'll fire up one of her albums instead.
Anyone have any comments to share on this particular Django? I've meant to pick some of his work up, but I just want to make sure this isn't some crappy, low-budget comp. So far the samples sound good.
It sounds good to my ears, vintage with some noise artifacts but overall clean and worth the $4. However, I am a __HUGE__ fan of Django so I pretty much love whatever I hear.
Same here elwood. I've heard the first single a few times and it's fairly good, but not as good as the first couple of albums. I'll likely just listen to those a couple times and skip the new one.
That wasn't quite the Thile album I wanted, nor was it the progressive acoustic I hoped would go on sale, but I snatched it up yesterday--$4 was too good a price.

Samples sounded so good I grabbed it.

I'm on the fence, I haven't listened to them in some 8 years and the samples don't nudge me either way.
