If anybody misses the days of pre-album pricing Past Classics opera releases there are a bunch in the <$4.99 category most at $2.97- winnow down the sub-cat to opera, and/or adjust the price range to $1.99-$2.99. I saw at least half a dozen titles I had DL'd back at eMu. Wonder if they've got better bitrates here.
Click through Doofy's link to 'Jazz', and get a smorgasbord of Billy Harper albums. Latecomers to that great tenor saxophonist should go to town. Also, the cheap The Works releases from Rova Saxophone Quartet would serve as a nice introduction to that important group.
I'm leaning toward this one...there are a couple other Magic Sam albums at the same price.
Plenty of good jazz options, in addition to the ones Karg mentions...a couple by Mal Waldron, also this Red Garland (and Coltrane and Byrd), which is a favorite of mine.
Doofy - Looks like the "album" is $2.97 (Black Magic is also great) because only 3 songs are available to DL - there is no "buy the album" nor are the other songs listed as "album only purchases," just "Not available."
For some reason Amazon has this at $3.99 at the moment - perhaps because 7digital has it at $4- 35 tracks coming in at 2:25 or so - The Singles Volume 9 1973-1975 by James Brown. The rest of the series is up at $14.45 per volume for the download, so it is a nice deal for some more of the Godfather.
The list of $1.99 albums is suddenly significantly longer ... pages longer. There's a lot of significant releases from this year: LCD Soundsystem, The National, Spoon, etc.
Perhaps not that long ... the range capture a few eps and singles. Nonetheless, the releases are significant--I've seen Robert Plant, the Walkmen, the Roots as well.
Some of those were Deals during the week and I'd not be surprised to see some of those bigger titles as tomorrow's Deals, namely DSOTM and the Lennon comp. I am pissed I just got that Mavis Staples release at eMu 2 weeks ago.

Yeah, thanks, it's all crystal clear now...!

Also it looks like a lot of those 99 classical collections are $1.99.
